As the podcast continues to remind me Marissa deserved better on so many fronts. Including on this podcast. LOL.

No doubt, lol

The last two weeks has made me appreciate Adam more though

Adam, lol. I love that he just went for it. "Y'all are too hard on Oliver!", basically.

He is correct in that it is the highest rated plot on the show, so people were paying attention and talking about it even if they were complaining, lol.

Plus I had more issues with how the aftermath was handled more than anything

I think the build up definitely could have been more creepy and nuanced and less campy, but it to some extent WAS limited by being a kind of classic teen show there. But the aftermath. Ooof.

That's definitely true

Most teen shows have some kind of stalker. Donna had one on 90210. Obviously Peyton had one. But The OC set itself apart by heaping blame upon blame for YEARS on its lead female as a result.

Which isn't a good thing at all

I think Kelly had one too on 90210, actually. It was the Marissa hate that Josh so heavily fed into that really set it apart :/

As we have both said before, it's a massive red flag that even Mark never blamed Peyton for having a stalker like Josh did

It's a weird, weird take. Completely driven by fan response. I don't think Josh went into the story intending to do it - there was a noticeable shift at the end of the plot.
