I put my favorite thing about them in the title ;)

Nice ;)

Still wish more teen shows would follow suit.

stlavin95 02-18-2019 02:25 AM

Same here

Cristofle 02-18-2019 04:54 PM

Adult shows have gotten better, but teen shows still seem to struggle a bit here, lol.

stlavin95 02-19-2019 03:24 AM

Which sucks lol

Cristofle 02-19-2019 05:15 PM

Yeah, it seems to be difficult across the board to write teenage girls as well rounded and acknowledge that they don't spend a ton of their time fighting each other over boys, lol. At least I didn't. I don't relate to that at all.

stlavin95 02-19-2019 11:31 PM

That's not surprising at all sadly

Cristofle 02-20-2019 03:28 PM

There is so much more to teenage girls than fighting over boys - if only more teen-centric shows would acknowledge that.

stlavin95 02-20-2019 04:19 PM

Would be nice if they did

Cristofle 02-21-2019 05:56 PM

Although even with The OC, they could have done more with Marissa AND Summer.

stlavin95 02-21-2019 06:07 PM

Still did a better job with these two compared to Brooke/Peyton

Cristofle 02-22-2019 04:51 PM

With their relationship, yes, it was a lot less offensive. But Marissa and Summer (really, especially Summer) were rarely given opportunities to grow outside of their relationships with boys.
