I do like it, not sure if it beats WIR but WIR I had to warm up to as well to several songs... But i do feel like this is a very different album and she sounds great!

Her voice is really pretty on this one. I can see myself listening to it a few times.

Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
Amazing vocals in it.

Merry Christmas (To The One I Used to Know)
This reminds me of something but I am not sure what. Her voice is beautiful on it, and again it is not overly Christmassy.

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree
I do not like this song but Kelly's voice is nice on it.

Glow
I would rather listen to just Kelly singing on this. It has nice lyrics but I find Chris Stapleton a little hard to understand.

Santa Baby
I am impressed you even gave it a chance Chelle.
Kelly does a good job with the song. Her tone for it works well.

Santa, Can't You Hear Me
It is a little too Christmassy for me but I like Kelly and Ariana's voices together and on this so I may listen to it a few times for that.

Last Christmas
At first I was not sure on her take on this but then her vocal ability really shines on it the further you get into the song.

Jingle Bell Rock
This feels like a stripped down version of this song compared to other versions I have heard. It really allows Kelly's voice to shine on it.

Blessed
Kelly's voice is amazing on this. I don't think I will be able to not listen to this one.

Christmas Come Early
This sounds like a covid-inspired song. It seems she saved the best for the end of the album with these last two songs.

Chelle with everything 2021 has handed you, it could be it doesn't stand out for you as nothing will and you cannot be ready for Christmas or celebrating.

Nope, nothing will. Hate the song. So I guess she didn't disappoint me over the song as I knew I wouldn't like it

If you mean the lack of stock I have no idea. Must be some sort of delay in shipping. Maybe covid too ? I can't go into stores to check, just can see on the websites that the album isn't in stock

I lost this thread for a second then. All I'd done was post in enough threads to move it onto the second page

Her songs are good. I think she picked better covers last time though. Her take on Christmas itself though is going to be different between the albums. She's experienced more & in a different place to where she was when WIR was released. It isn't fair to compare them. Hard not to in my head though unfortunately

Anyone else notice that she has writing credits on five tracks, same as she did on WIR? (not including the deluxe songs on WCCA)

I think due to it being a christmas album you compare it to her other christmas album, though I don't otherwise compare albums, at least not hers since they are usually so very different from one another..


Hi Mimica,, glad you were able to listen to it and feel like a few songs deserve a re-listen.

I feel like the Ariana/Kelly duet is very radio friendly, and I actually enjoy it since the other songs aren't necessarily fun christmas songs, so this feels a bit more joyful
I am interested to see if they plan on making this a song they could duet together on The Voice perhaps.. I'd enjoy it at least! and by far our only chance perhaps for that to happen

Yeah it probably is because it is a Christmas album. Normally I wouldn't compare either. It is only my memory comparing too as it isn't like I have listened to WIR since last Christmas
