Thank you for this. It does seem like they are simply taking inspiration from Eurovision and truly making their own show which is nice.

Yeah it is. At first seeing that list & what they are doing I was thinking they don't seem to understand how Eurovision works but could be that they simply are just making their own show with a little bit of inspiration from Eurovision. Plus probably easier doing it this way than having each state pick an artist. That'd take a while. I don't pay attention to Eurovision but I know we had 'Australia Decides' recently. No idea if we see the other countries deciding or if they decide in a similar way to us, or if we now just see the competition itself when it starts. Something like that wouldn't work in just one country. Not with as many states as the US has anyway. They'd take forever if they'd air each state deciding, but it'd be strange for each state to only see their own bit. It also would be a lot of work to organise too. I wonder how the US did decide tbh

I wouldn't have a clue who picks the song. I don't know anything about the show or how it all works. It is possible that they do pick the song for the hosts though. Even still, WLW is becoming a bit like Walk Away & sung a lot
