Hi,

I really liked the movie. It was like seeing some old dear friends after many years.

I was really happy to read elsewhere that even non- fans were able to enjoy it.

The movie has its flaws but we should cut Rob Thomas some slack. It was not so easy: He had to make a movie for the fans but also enjoyable for the newbies, he had to find a compelling mystery and in the meantime he had to use all of the old characters. Let's not forget that he had to pack all of this in less than 2 hours. I think that he did a really good job.

I would be totally okay if this was the end of VM. On the other hand, i could be ready for new adventures. Just please, i do not want season3 mistakes again. I want them to keep it real, noirish, VM style like s1 and s2 :)

I loved seeing Wallace, Mac, papa Mars and Weevil interacting with V.

Gaby Hoffmann was fantastic! All of her scenes with L/V were gold. And Vinnie was so creepy and funny as usual.

Sad that Gia died, I've always liked her and i love Krystin Ritter.

Veronica was more herself than she has ever been since season 3. Finally, i liked her again.

Logan has grown up a lot and honestly, after all he went thorugh, i was so proud of him! :)
He has become a good man with an honorable job. Yes, he still is a bit hotheaded and dark (i.e. the fight, difficult pop star girlfriend...) but he was the one who matured the most in my opinion. And i think that Veronica saw that too. Their relationship could really work this time around.

I was not sorry for Piz. Veronica had her good reasons to stay in Neptune, Logan was an innocent who risked his life and she was looking for the truth. If you don't get this you don't get Veronica. Well, not that Piz ever got her anyway.

:)

The movie was good but not great IMHO. It was so great to see all these characters come together again and i'm so proud of being a backer, that was worth it. Seeing my favorite male character on my screen again was worth it

I think it lacked in the relationships department.

I wanted to see a glimpse of the "two solid weeks in bliss", i wanted the "foreplay" meaning banter and snarky remarks, i wanted their first meeting to be epic, instead it was a bit awkward.

I wanted to see Weevil and Logan in at least one scene together, their dynamic was one of the best thing of the show.
I wanted Lily in the memorial. Not fair.

I wanted Piz in a desert island far away from Neptune. I'm sorry for this poor guy to be useless, Chris isn't a reason enough to include Piz in the movie.
Waste of screentime.

I loved Veronica! I wasn't her biggest fan in S3 but she totally rocks again. Her loyaulty to Logan warmed my heart. She stoid by him no matter what her father or her friends said. She never doubt him that was a nice change.
She's still this badass chick smarter than you ;)

I loved Keith and Veronica. Their relationship is gold. Best father/daughter duo
Dick was still Dick that was...comforting

Even though i really really missed the jackass/funny/snarky Logan, i love the older more mature Logan. Because he's Logan Freaking Echolls
Hey, maybe we'll see more of the tv show Logan in the sequel? A girl can dream :D

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum but wanted to comment on the movie. Loved it!

Did anyone catch the "Frozen" reference? When Logan and V were in Lamb's office, Logan was wearing a goofy baseball hat that said Warm Hugs (or something like that. I only saw the movie once!). I was wondering what that goofy thing meant! Then last night my kids were watching "Frozen" and the snowman, of course, says that. BINGO! So yeah, cute reference!

((Crossing fingers)) for more VM' s movies. :) :)

FanMom Welcome to :ff:! I hope you stick around. I didn't know that was a Frozen reference (because I'm the only one of the planet that still hasn't seen it. ) That's so neat that they put that in though. :D

Tftnt!!

Poor Sacks, I always liked him and now he's gone.

warangel88 03-17-2014 10:43 AM

Honestly I like Sacks and Gia grew on me on the film.

Did Carrie commit suicide? I mean Gia said something to Veronica, that made me think it was a possibility.

AmidalaEmma 03-17-2014 10:59 AM

I understood and was fine with the lack of Wallace/Weevil. the truth is, as a story The movie had to tell a story otherwise it would be filled with meaningless fanwanks. The scenes needed to develop the plot and Weevil and Wallace were less important in this one.

Loved when Veronica told that guy to "F-word off". She is so bad! lol:blush:
such a prickly girl at times. love this about her.

Loved that so many of the kids have grown/changed. Gia thinks cute isnt eough, Dick battles depression. Luke is Gay?! Sean still a jerk!

I loved the finding of herself/Logan. made up for season 3 (my annoyance with Veronica and her treatment of Logan) So happy with the ending with Piz!!! lol

One thing; would people go to jail for failing to realize their friend was dead from alcohol? or were they just worried about scandal?

Also, what happened to Logan that made him decide to join the naval air force? Love the development but want back story. I miss his snarkiness/pricklyness but love him still. SO SEXY! I do miss his older, less subdues and muted self. i Loved how theatrical Logan always was with his gestures and rollar coaster of ups and downs and mischievous ways.

The mystery was great and the movie was a great combo of mystery, hilarity, love, friends, family, relationships, etc.

No. Cobb killed her, and then he changed the alarm code, took the tablet, and had Gia text Logan to get over there and frame him for it. It happened pretty much exactly the way Veronica thought it did, except Cobb was in Luke's place and he was the one pulling the strings instead of Gia.

warangel88 03-17-2014 12:22 PM

^Alright thanks.

I've read some interesting discussions on if Veronica is partly to blame for Gia's dead. What do you guys think?

When you think about it, it was kind of stupid to leave the bug on. :look: Then again, if you start thinking about the actual plot of the movie too much, you notice a lot of things that are kind of out of place.

I'm still completely in love with the movie, but not so much with some of the details of the actual story.

Regulus-Fan 03-17-2014 12:37 PM

I really liked the movie, especially Veronica's storyline and her conclusion in the end was really in character everything.

Loved to see familiar faces but I didn't expect the reunion part to be so short for some reason

The Franco scenes were really funny  didn't expect that.

I felt bad for Piz ... I was never a fan of Piz/Veronica but I think they could have handled that one better. If Rob really wanted him in the movie he could have just showed up as a surprise guest but them being in a relationship together and totally happy but then her ending everything with him like that felt just not right for me.

The murder mystery was good but somehow the whole movie (especially after they mentioned Susan Knight being dead too) I thought the teacher from season 1 would be behind all of this and expected him to show up every second

I hoped for more Wallace/Veronica and Veronica/Mac. And more Weevil aswell. I really was afraid for him when he got shot

I didn't really like the jobs that Wallace and Mac got. Is Wallace only teaching gym? I really hoped he would have been doing something with engineering after he sacrificed so much for that in season 3. And I was even more angry about Mac working for Kane software ... she would never. I'm glad that she apparently left that for working with Veronica and hope to see more of that in the books :yay:

I really liked what they did with Logan/Veronica. Even though the good bye with the "epic" dialogue was a little bit too cheesy for me.

Poor Sacks :( I never really cared for Gia ... and I thought it was really problematic that she was basically telling her whole story with her dad in front of Veronica with Mac and Dick standing there. That should have been separated from them because of them being connected with Cassidy. But I still felt bad for her :(

I think more than leaving the bug on (which might not have been so easy to get rid of if the bug was planted in the flowers- I'm not exactly sure how that works, it doesn't seem like she can change the frequency from afar or she would have done so immediately), it was her own issues that led her to assume Gia was the mastermind, the same way she initially assumed the worst of Carrie in Mars vs. Mars. I don't think she's to blame for leaving the bug on- she had no way of knowing Cobb's neighbor was listening to that exact station, and Cobb would be able to hear Gia rat on him. That was just a quirk of fate. Ultimately, Cobb and Cobb alone is responsible for Gia's death. However, the way that she confronted Gia and assumed she herself was in no danger because Gia was clearly the mastermind...that has to do with her own assumptions of girls she doesn't particularly like, and it's very in keeping with her character.

warangel88 03-17-2014 12:47 PM

I think Veronica could have done a bit more for Gia, like put pressure on the wound, but she also probably need her hands free to make the call in. As for the bug, I think it would be obvious if she tries to turn it off, or may have been a bit absent mined.

I will admit I don't know much about military/navy ect. Except for what is presented in shows/movies (which may be occasionally fictionalized). But because Logan was in the navy, wouldn't they have investigated the case, because Logan was a suspect or does a milatary officer need to killed/murdered before they investigate?

Cristofle 03-17-2014 01:07 PM

Well, Logan wasn't suspected of murdering a Naval officer, nor was he suspected of committing the crime on a base, so they wouldn't have been obligated to handle it in that sense. He mentions that he's met with JAG in the very beginning (Judge Advocate General Corps, Navy lawyers), which was likely either to see what kind of damage this might do to his career or to see if he wants to use their defense services (which he opted not to, apparently).

ETA: And Veronica would have had a hard time applying pressure (and it would have been a moot point, likely, given how quickly she died)- she was crouched in the corner she was in because she didn't want to end up in the line of fire. She did the only thing she could to get paramedics there ASAP, which was to tell 911 an officer had been shot.

I saw the movie yesterday and I was so happy with it. I understood going into it that it be like an extended episode rather than an actual movie and I was completely okay with that. Veronica Mars means so much to me as a series and I was willing to pay whatever amount, even if it meant watching the cast sit on stools for almost 2 hours. It was perfect. Loved the story line (hated that they re-casted Carrie though... Come on Leighton ), LOVED LOVED LoVe! Def loved everything about Veronica and Keith. Everything was just perfect!

Litmusy 03-17-2014 03:01 PM

? about Susan Knight. She was the one that got pregnant by the teacher right? Did they ever discuss what would/did happen to the baby? If she's out partying, doing drugs, I'm guessing she didn't keep the baby, but was that ever addressed in the series? I can't remember.
