Plot Outline:
Set in rural Ohio, the birthplace of football, UNDERDOGS is the story of a small-town high school football team destined to play their cross-town rival and perennial powerhouse while standing up for an entire community. The Knights have never made a playoff appearance until a coach looking for a second chance arrives and changes everything. With the community torn apart by the actions of the town’s largest employer, the “Game Of Champions” becomes bigger than the State Finals.

Like Hoosiers, Rudy and Facing the Giants, this is a movie about beating the odds and rising to the challenges both on and off the ﬁeld. UNDERDOGS will be ﬁlmed entirely in Ohio and directed by Canton native Doug Dearth.

Just came out to the presses this morning. Nothing in on IMDb (no surprises). If it's the lead......then Scott must be the coach, right?

So happy to see this happening for Scott. It sounds like the perfect role for him. If he is indeed cast as the coach, which is how it seems, how many times have we all said he woud be great in a sports movie as a coach? It sounds like a "feel good" movie with a good story. I love football, throw in Scott...it's a winner. Fabulous!
And William Mapother is in this too! He was the evil, creepy Ethan in LOST . Little trivia for ya, he is also Tom Cruise's cousin.
Filming in Ohio this summer....interesting.

Very, very excited to see this happening for Scott! I think it's a really good role for him. Uses his athletic physicality, strong presence as a leader and sensitivity for the mentoring/coaching. I'm really eager to hear more!
