Alexis in TSOTTP #3: The trailer is here!!!

banner by Fidelian

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, based on Ann Brashares' best-selling novel, tells the story of one very special summer in the lives of four lifelong friends who are separated for the first time. On a shopping trip together, the young women find a pair of thrift-shop jeans that fits each of them perfectly and they decide to use these "magic" pants as a way of keeping in touch over the months ahead, each one wearing the jeans for a week to see what luck they bring her before sending them on to the next. Though miles apart, the four friends still experience life, love and loss together in a summer they'll never forget.

Alexis will be playing LENA KALAGARIS alongside Amber Tamblyn as Tibby, America Ferrera as Carmen and Blake Lively as Bridget.

THE RULES

We the sisterhood, hereby initiate the following rules to govern the use of the Traveling Pants.

1. You must never wash the pants.
2. You must never double cuff the pants. It's tacky. There will never be a time when this will not be tacky.
3. You must never say the word "phat" while wearing the pants. You must also never think of yourself, "I am fat", while wearing the pants.
4. You must never let a boy take off the pants (although you may take them off yourself in his presence).
5. You must not pick your nose while wearing the pants. You may however, scratch casually at your nostril while really kind of picking.
6. Upon our reunion, you must follow the proper procedures for documenting your time in the pants: on the left leg of the pants, write the most exciting place you have been while wearing the pants. On the right leg of the pants, write the most important thing that has happened to you while wearing the pants. (For example, "I hooked up with my second cousin, Lvan, while wearing the traveling pants")
7. You must write to your sisters thoughout the summer, no matter how much fun you are having without them.
8. You must pass the pants along to your sisters according to the specifications set down by the sisterhood. Failure to comply will result in a severe panking upon our reunion.
9. You must not wear the pants with a tucked in shirt and belt. See rule 2.
10. Remember: Pants = Love. Love your pals. Love yourself.

Thanks for the new thread, Maz! Unfortunately I suck at coming up with thread titles, so someone else will have to help us with that one.

Awww, I hope that it's a mistake too.

i checked a few sites and they also say Sept 2nd. I guess the release was pushed back.

And im kinda an impatient person so i think im going to have to watch it by "other mean" like i did SIn City. I was trying to hold out for it here, but now its too long a wait.

oooh i just finished watching it, and my initial reaction is that overall i loved it. the movie was as i expected and that was good. it made me laugh and cry and everything.

i loved Alexis. I still wish her story stuck to the book but i understand how it may not have worked for a movie. I actually ended up liking the guy who played kostos, well he seemed to suit the role even though i didnt think he was good looking enough at first.

hmm what else? i wish lena had been the one to go and see bee in mexico instead of how it happened, but they kinda changed the timeline so that wouldn't have worked i guess.

I just have to say how much I loved this movie. I went with my mother (though she went rather reluctantly) and we both enjoyed it immensely. Alexis did wonderful, as did the rest of the cast. I actually preferred the movie to the books. The books always felt too corny, and a bit fake. But somehow the transition between page and screen evolved into a truly enjoyable movie, one of the best tween/teen marketed movies I've ever seen in recent years.

I also just felt the need to share the reaction of an older woman's (at least 60) reaction to Carmen's scene in the dress store. As Carmen finished her speech my fellow audience member said "You go girl." This pretty much summed up the movie for me. It was "girl power" (as dumb as that sounds) that all ages could enjoy.

Yeah that part was good. I thought I wouldn't like it at all. I thought it was a teeny-bopper movie but it was actually really good. Alexis had the best role because she changed the most form being so reserved. I would love to go to Greece its so beautiful. Bridget annoyed me so much I was like I really don't want to see the ****ty blonde one.

aww, i really love Bee, but in the movie she prob came across really flirty because there wasnt as much time to explain how her mother's death made her the way she is. i mean they touched on it, but in the book you understood it so much more, and alot of bridget's scene's were cut. my mum wasn't impressed with bee either but she's always been my fave so i really liked her.

Hey
( wow my 1000th post I'm getting addicted I think )

I had read the book ... I actually finished yesterday and begun the day before ! I was a great book (not long enough for me ) it was funny and sad and everything you're looking for in a book !!
I think my least favorite girl was Bridget and my fav... I can't say ,they are all great .
the Tibby / Bailey story was the sadest ( right word ? ) .
anyway, it was a great book and I can't wait to see the movie !!

oh yay! you're in australia right Kelly? The movie isn't out yet there is it?

I watched the last 10 mins again with my mum the other day because she had to go tend to my baby brother just as it was ending. I am def going to watching it again soon too.

I really want to make a music video to Breakway by Kelly Clarkson for the film, just a general one on all the girls. So now i wonder when the movie will be out on dvd

Hi everyone.

I just saw the movie today (finally!) and I thought it was fantastic and Alexis was great in it. (Well, they all were great!) I had started reading the first book years ago, but I don't think I ever finished it, it was one of those cast away at the end of the summer type books. The only reason I went to see the movie was because Alexis was in it. Anyway, I'm now going to reread the first book and all the books, so this got me hooked.
