There was something that felt amiss about this forum, and I've decided that what this forum needs is more personalization. I was wondering what was going on to that effect around here? A journal/member home page would be a nice start, ala **************.

I also feel that the label text under our usernames should be user-defined, and there should be a list of members and their post counts. An upgrade to the buddy list system, wherein your buddies' names become links to their profile, would also be a great benefit to n00bs looking to get to know posters for more than just their username. Is there a chance for any of this to happen?

There used to be a members list but since it's basically a search function (I think), it was turned off cos it strains the server. I don't know if it will return.

Please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Your signature line and profile are yours to personalize, as long as you don't include links to other message boards. Many people include links to LiveJournals.

I'm not sure if the member list will return. It was linked to the search feature which was putting a strain on the server, so it was truned off.

With more than 127,000 members, the members list was too large to be really useful. Most of the searching is turned on now, but the Members list is off because of the aforementionned server strain.

We (unintentionally) allowed users to customize their titles for a few hours once, chaos ensued and it was disabled again.

Every user does have a profile page, and we could certainly consider adding more to that page which users could customize, that's not a bad idea. There are no plans to support individual blogs or home pages though.

I think a top 10 or top 20 used to be a part of the memberlist. I'm not sure if there is a way to put that on without putting the member list on, though there may be who knows.

But then again, other members would feel disappointed, because they're not on the list. We better not have a members list if it's causing to much pain to the server. There are too many members (even though probably not all are still active).
I think you get to know people very well through the posting and then can click on their profile link. And most of them haven't even filled out everything, like me. It's good the way it is...

Other than that, I love the control panel. Very useful.

I don't have everything filled in either, but then again it's just mostly asking me about myself and my hobbies. I didn't feel like going into that but maybe customizing the profile for more fan based things such as favorite movies, actors, etc. would be more appropriate for this forum and help a user get to know another user better based on their entertainment interests. Maybe also include an option where the user can put which FF boards they visit the most frequently.
