Maybe we should ask what are people buying, desktop, laptop or even tablet as their main computer, also PC or Mac?

Sure!

My mine one is a Laptop, PC, I just do not understand mac and will probably always be a PC kinda gal. It's a HP Pavilion g series.

I just got a new 27" iMac with the works including latest i7 and 32Gb of RAM.

I do wonder home many now get by with a tablet or smart phone over a desktop or laptop?

I couldn't deal with just a tablet, I actually don't really like them, I need somewhere for discs!

Then you won't like the new iMac, no DVD drive built in. You can get a USB one if you need. But after a month with my new iMac I don't miss it one bit and the times I have needed it, installing Office. I just shared the DVD in my old Mac (works with PCs too) installed the software and was done. FYI I could have downloaded the software from MS if I had to.

Oh and you don't have to buy the Apple DVD, just about any USB DVD will work and BluRay.

I also have an old PC as a BT server which I'll only replace when needed.

I haven't gotten a table yet, I don't need one and been saving up and now waiting until the iPad updates, which might come mid year. Should be good to play Angry Birds on

I'd like to make clips of shows and don't know how. What program should I use and what steps should I follow?
