My new nephew was born this morning! So that's exciting for me!! He's cute with hair and his nickname will be Desi.
Today is also the last day of work before Christmas Break for two weeks, we are expecting snow too. People are serving some students pizza for lunch here. I need to find a show to binge watch during the break! __________________

Congratulations on your new nephew, Leanne!
It might snow in the UK at Christmas time. I don't suppose it will snow in my area though, it rarely does. I want to use smilies but they aren't working. __________________

Hello, I just signed up here and am not sure where to begin. Seems like this might be a good place to introduce myself. I'm Canadian, love discussing sports, movies, politics, religion, travelling, and really anything.

Saska. I'm Canadian too. I live in Ontario. I love travelling, but with covid it's been forever since I've been away. Do you have a favourite destination? We have a Sports forum where you might find other fans.
Leanne - congrats on the new nephew. Dave - yes, we had some technical issues and was really weird yestercay Julie - I'll gladly send some snow your way. __________________

I also have a soft spot on my heart for Nova Scotia, since we lived there the year my daughter was born. I'll definitely check out the sports forums, especially Denver Broncos and Toronto Maple Leafs... Are there many CFL fans here? |

The only sport I follow is figure skating, so I'm afraid I can't help you there.
Italy is beautiful! So much history there. Within Canada, my favourite destination is British Columbia. I love the mountains and the coastline. I need to get out to the grocery store today. Hopefully stock up on everything I"ll want for the holidays. __________________

We have family in Alberta and BC, and most of my life we've made a trip out to the mountains at least once a year. I love it out there too. Canada is such a cool place because you can experience pretty much every climate/landscape (except maybe tropical/rain forest) without leaving the country.
But being from a city that's only a little over 100 years old, it's also so neat to go places where there are buildings hundreds or thousands of years old. Florence was such an amazing city... |

I loved Florence too! I really regret missing Venice. I was scheduled to leave for Italy the day that volcano in Iceland shut down air traffic for a few days. Our tour was supposed to start in Venice, but started in Florence instead. Iceland is another beautiful country.
Hopefully covid will settle down and I'll be able to travel again someday. Are you all ready for Christmas? __________________

We really only stayed in Rome and Florence while in Italy. We wanted to get to Venice, but it would have be really rushed and out of the way, since we were going over to Greece after Florence. We got to do a short tour near Florence and check out San Gimignano, Sienna, Pisa and Vinci though, which was wonderful.
Most of our international travels were limited prior to COVID because of having two young kids and financial limitations, and having family around Canada that we really wanted to see with the kids. But as our kids get older and our careers get settled we hope to take them on wonderful long adventures around the world. We're pretty ready for Christmas. We have family on a beautiful farm that we haven't been able to visit since covid hit, so we are going to get out there for a few days. That place is just like a paradise for us, plus there will be family there we really miss and are excited to see. You? |

Hi, Saska. I'm Julie from England.
Please send me some snow, Chris! It feels cold enough for snow at the moment. __________________

Hi Julie from England. We have plenty of snow in Saskatchewan... and it feels like -30° today with the wind. You can have all the snow and cold you'd like

Julie - I just have a sprinkling of snow at the moment, but you're more than welcome to it
Saska - We're getting together with my side of the family on Wednesday afternoon. The children are out of school, most of the adults work shift, and it's a blended family situation, so that day works for most of us. My niece has booked the local arena for a skating party first. That should help the kids get rid of some energy. Got most of what I wanted at the grocery store. Will probably still need to get out for milk and eggs before the end of the week. __________________
