Sex and the City - The SATC finale - What would you have done different?

In my own opinion the SATC finale was great!! 9.5 on a scale from 1-10. But if I could have done something different, I would have wanted it to focus much more on the girls and their life as friends and less on what was going on as far as their love lives.

I had always said that it wouldn't have hurt my feelings too badly if Carrie had stayed single, maybe because thats the way I was used to seeing her. Trust me I enjoyed the action between her and Big in the finale. But what if the girls had stayed single and it had ended kind of like it started, just the girls sipping cocktails and being pissed off by men. I guess if it had ended like that then the six seasons we went through would have been for naught.

But in the finale I really wanted it to be more about friendships than found love. I wish Carrie had gotten out of Paris sooner. Or better yet had never went. I wanted her home with the girls, sipping Cosmos at some smoke filled "it" club of the week. As much as I loved the progression of the girls characters and the men that came into their lives. I really longed for the old days. I wanted to see more of that tied into the finale. Maybe if one of the girls, preferably Sam for me, had stayed single and kept the f**k men persona it would have brought back a little of the old feel for me, I'm not sure.

So basically I'm asking. What would you guys have liked to have seen different? Was it perfect to you? Did it end like you would have wanted it to..everyone with the right guys or do you wish it would have been done another way.

I would of had Samantha say that she loves Smith as well. And I would've had Charlotte and Harry get to meet there child.

I haven't seen the final eppy, yet but in 'An American Girl in Paris, part one' i would have done 1 thing different. Shen Miranda says to Big, 'bring our girl back' , i thought that it was a little to much.

Do you guys think it would have ended differently if they knew at the time of filming the finale that there would be no movie? I think that it might have affected it. I believe they would have at least let Char and Harry get their baby. And possibly a wedding for Carrie or an engagement for Sam..if either of them could handle that.

I wish we got to see Charlotte and Harry's baby. We've known for so long how much Char wanted a baby, it would have been nice to see them together as a family for the first time.

Well, when it ended, were they hoping for a movie and now they're not so sure. I wonder why they did just leave it like that.

Ok, my thoughts

~Lunch with the ex-wife, it was an odd scene. And what she said about Aleksandr, great way to scare the new girlsfriend

~Charlotte shopping for something simple at Chanel, and than those parents. Want some lax. THat's the fish, right? I've never really noticed that they gave that much money.

~Carrie and the dog was so cute!

~When Carrie saw her own book in Paris, i was so happy for her. And her fanclub, so funny. But i think they must hate her now, because she never showed up to the party.

~Big getting so mad at Aleksandr was so funny, just look at his face

~Miranda taking care of Steve mother, really showed that she has changed alot. I loved that Magda said that is was an act of true love and then kissed her. I'm a huge Magda shipper hahaha

~How Smith that 'I love you' to Samantha. And she was crying. At another board, they were talking about that she should say 'i love you back'. But i really think that she did it in her own way by saying 'there wasn't an better reason for you to come back'.

~Overal i loved how it ended, i jus wish the would have to girls together in the very last scene.

I also think that itj's a good think that they didn't give Charlotte the baby and rounded everything up to perfect, this leaves something to the inmaganation, wich i love.

I would have liked to have had Carrie return of her own volition not because Big finally chased after her. I would have liked the final scene to be the girls having brunch in their nondescript coffee shop. I wouldn't have had Big's real name given away.

i agree to this Jenn.. but well partly she returned because of her own volition .. i mean she broke up with alexandre before big showed up..

hmm i think the finale was cute .. but the Carrie / Big thing was a bit rushed .. and i´d like to see that Char and Harry get to meet her child and that Miranda and steve telling each other that they loved another

about smith / Sam.. i think it was kinda cute and i knew that sam woudlnt say "i love you too" but what she said was more for her

I too felt the Big/Carrie ending was a bit rushed. I think all of us that had been waiting to see these two without all the drama were a bit let down. But, almost all show endings are gonna leave you wanting more, thats what makes it a great show. And, I would have loved to have the girls last scene in the coffee shop or some where sipping cosmos.

thats true.. i ever wanted more after a season finale .. i remember Pretender .. i was kinda shoecked when it ended the way it did.. but with SatC i´m almost satisfied.. sure one or two things could´ve been different.. but i like the way the show ended

I saw part 2 last night

OH my I loved it!! <sigh>Big and Carrie

What would I do different? - I would want have wanted for Carrie to have met up with her paris fan base

I was soo pissed off about her missing out on it because of that jerk! She deserves the success of her book and I wanted her to enjoy it!

Hmm..the Carrie/Big thing was a bit rushed but well I don't know...still loved it in a way

I wouldn't have ended the show! :-(

I know all their interviews say how they wanted to go out on top and while the party was still going strong but I honestly believe they could have done a few more seasons with the fan following they had.

Having said that I did love the ending and that she was finally with Mr Big although I do agree it was a bit rushed.

At least now I can watch the final episode without crying (well almost - LOL) same can't be said about the Farewell Special Episodes.
