I just watched Satc episodes yestarday (after a couple of years), and I have been surprised, how difficult and petty Charlotte was during her marriage with Trey.

I mean, Trey was even worse himself. All his impotence problems, his difficult mother etc. Well, to his benefit, he was at least quite kind to Charlotte.

But Charlotte, on the other hand, wanted to spend all that money for redecorating apartment, she kissed the gardener at some point. And she wanted to adopt a child from China without even consulting Trey.

Why? Charlotte is always the sweetest, kindest of all 4 girls.

No, I don't think that she turned into bi***.
But maybe she just wasn't really prepared to be a wife, she was too independent. Or perhaps she just didn't love Trey.

Good question!

I think she had a perfect picture of everything in her head - how she should be as a wife, what her husband would be like, how many kids they'd have etc etc. And then when none it turned out like the picture she slowly started to unravel and lose control under the pressure of it all.

It happened with Harry as well when she was wanting them to get married. But once she finally relaxed and realised not everything has to be perfect, and she doesn't have to be perfect, she just started to let things happen

Yes, I agree with you.
But it also seems to me, she didn't understand, what marriage really was like. She just wanted things on the surface (beautifully decorated apartment, handsome doctor for a husband, perfect family). It wasn't really about her connection with Trey, about building life together.
