I liked Brooke most of tonight. Minus her obvious pro-Leyton tendencies, and Brooke sayign the Lucas has a history of picking the wrong girl to hide from his true feelings. That bugged me a lot. But the Brooke and Jamie stuff what the cutest in the world. When they were watching the soap together, and when she snuck him an extra scoop of ice cream. Plus, it was nice to see Brooke naked in a backseat again, but she wasn't the same all out whore Brooek from before.

I hated that too.

I did like the rest of the epi though, esp BJ They made the epi for me. I also enjoyed the BO scenes and Brooke being there for Peyton.

I totally agree with what's said above!!! Brooke has to stop talking about BL being nothing... why did Mark write that???
He's talking down his own best written scenes!!!

*sigh*

BP own my soul, that was *the* best scene ever. The only thing that would have topped it would to have them makeout when hey tossed the copy of Lucas' book, lol.

How cute is Brooke with Jamie? I *so* love Jackson.

I really enjoyed this episode with the one notable exception of “Nannygate,”, because we got to see some truly emotional scenes between all three players in the love triangle that has come to dominate this season. Many of the words that we heard in this episode were full of symbolic metaphors, and some of these metaphors seemed designed to give some fans hope while filling other fans with despair.

I was glad that we got to revisit the scene with Lucas and Peyton at Trics, because I really got to see a different perspective on it from when I saw it last week. If you look at that scene, you could see that there was a part of Lucas wanted to give in and tell Peyton he still loved her, but then he controlled his emotions and the expression on his face changed as he said “I have to go see Lindsey.” I see Lucas as a man torn between his head and his heart, because although I do believe that he loves Lindsey, there’s a part of him that can’t let his feelings for Peyton go, but he needs to be a man and either fully commit to Lindsey heart and soul, or he needs to let her go, but right now, he’s not making Lindsey, Peyton, or himself very happy.

I’m glad that we got to see the missing scene between Lucas and Lindsey, but I still have the impression that the ring she found was the ring he bought for Peyton, so he was lying when he said he was waiting to give it to her until he was sure that he had another book in him. Still though, I liked seeing him express his fears and doubts about himself to her, and her response to him was very sweet and heartfelt, and I really got to understand why he loves her in that scene, as she assuaged his insecurities and she told him that she would love him whether he was a writer or just a small town basketball coach. Still though, I have a feeling that this is all going to end badly for Lucas and Lindsey, because I don’t think that Lucas has put his feelings for Peyton behind him.

My heart broke for Peyton when she read from Lucas’ book after she found out that Lucas had proposed to Lindsey, and I’m glad that Brooke was there to comfort her as they burned Lucas’ book. The only think that dismayed me once again is when Brooke said that Lucas has the habit of throwing himself into the wrong relationships, especially when he can’t admit the truth about who he loves, because although I was glad that once again, Brooke was showing what a true friend she was to Peyton, I wouldn’t want her to view her own relationship with Lucas as one of those wrong relationships that Lucas threw himself into.

Brooke and Haley’s reaction to Lindsey’s announcement of her engagement was priceless, especially how they looked at one another. I also thought that Skills and Nathan’s reaction to Lucas’ announcement was hilarious, especially when Skills asked him who the lucky girl was!

Lucas and Peyton’s scene was so heartbreaking as Peyton poured her heart out to Lucas, but Lucas told her he was in love with Lindsey, and her epiphany at her mother’s grave, where she got a sign about the sacrifice that Keith had made for Karen was very moving, and the scene where she told Lucas that she loved him but if what he wanted was for her to let go, she was going to do it was incredibly touching.

I was very happy to see that the Mouth/Alice affair came to an end and that he didn’t lose his job; and it was hilarious when he found out that she had been apparently sleeping with half of the people that worked there, and not just him, and that the station manager hadn’t found out about their affair. I really liked the scenes between Mouth and Millicent, and I was glad that Mouth was able to make amends for the way he had hurt her by finding a way to share what he liked and what she liked in a way that showed her he respected her and really wanted to get to know her. I cracked up when Mouth said “I would totally date you if you were sleeping with Brooke,” as that line gave us a rare moment of humor in an otherwise rather gloomy episode.

As always, I really enjoyed all of Brooke’s scenes, especially her scenes with Jamie, but to be honest, I don’t care for Owen and I do feel that he acts like he feels he’s above her, and I thought the scene where she showed up naked in his car was over the top, and I think this wonderful character deserves better than that. Still though, the way she flirted with Owen was hilarious, especially when she said “aren’t you supposed to be shopping for some fugly giantess,” and the scene where she complained to Jamie about Owen was adorable.

I was glad to see Haley confront both Lucas and Peyton about the kiss they had shared, but I thought that Haley was a lot harsher to Peyton than she was to Lucas, which I don’t think was fair, because I feel they both had equal responsibility for what had happened. I also didn’t like the fact that even Haley told Peyton that she had said no to Lucas when he proposed, because like Haley said, she didn’t say no, she said someday, (and her saying someday really only involved asking Lucas to wait a year, which I still say was a reasonable request) so I think it’s so unfair that she judged her so harshly and incorrectly for that, just like Lucas did. Still though, she did have a point that Lucas had fallen in love in the meantime and that she had to stop trying to take that away from him.

I thought it was ironic that Haley was giving relationship advice to her friends in this episode because her own relationship with Nathan, unbeknownst to her, seems to be in danger as the Carrie further insinuated herself into the life of her family as she continued her scheme to break up Nathan and Haley’s marriage and get the life that Haley has with him and Jamie for herself, and I can’t believe that Nathan did nothing when Carrie kissed him, especially after he had set boundaries for her that very morning, and it’s equally unbelievable that he would say nothing to Haley about what Carrie had done. This story defies belief, and it makes Nathan look like a fool and a weak-willed person, and what he’s doing right now is giving Carrie all the ammunition she needs to destroy his marriage if and when he finally wakes up and does something, or if and when Haley discovers what she’s doing. I really don’t like this storyline at all, because not only is it sordid and unnecessary, but it also puts Nathan in a very bad light, as the words “I’m starting to think that some things are better left secrets” portended trouble in the future of Nathan, Haley, and Jamie.

I love the letter that Peyton wrote to Molly, and her words were filled with symbolism, and the actual painting of the closet door by Molly was also filled with symbolism, because although Molly was painting over the words on that door, those words still shown through, like Peyton said about the love she had professed for Lucas, burning profusely, just below the surface, just like her love for Lucas.

Overall, I enjoyed this episode, and I’m looking forward to seeing how everything plays out in the next few episodes.
