You use soy/ser when it's permanent or a characteristic (soy generosa) and you use estoy/estar when it's not permanent (Estoy in Mexico por tres dias) or for an emotional state you're in (I am happy - estoy alegre) because you're not going to be happy ALL the time, just at that one occasion.

Yes class, quiz next Thursday!

ARGGH, 170 to 112! Damnit!

You are very wise, master.

Boooo! Hisssss! Good news is, it looks like Kerry will take PA, although Bush will most likely take OH and FL. One step forward, two steps back. :(

LA Times website says it's 210-188, Bush, but CNN is saying 197-188.

If Bush wins another four years, I am seriously going to college in Canada. No bullsh-t. And I'm not moving back until we get a friggin' Democrat. or, at the very least, John McCain.

and no offense to any Bush supporters (hey, Ciera ;) ), but some of them are just so...IMPERVIOUS. They live in a friggin' bubble. As someone on dKos (fanforum? DU? somewhere) said, terrorists aren't going to attack Nowherseville, Oklahoma, they're going for urban centers and who are THEY voting for? yeah, that's what I thought.

and don't get me started on them basing their decision on morality issues, either. *headdesk*

but hey! Puppy!

And now it looks like it's 237-199 Bush.

OHIO BETTER PULL THE HELL THROUGH.

from my understanding, there are tons of absentee ballots and such that haven't been counted, so I'm not losing all hope yet.

Somehow, this is all Karl Rove's fault.

eta: Seriously, though. The results just ARE. NOT. meshing with the polls and the "environment" days up to the election.

-Katie- 11-03-2004 04:06 AM

 I'm starting to think I'm the only Bush supporter around here. I absolutly despise Kerry.

Caroline: Aw, thanks hun! I love your new avatar too!

miss blue sky 11-03-2004 04:06 AM

You're not alone, Katie. ;) Ciera is also a Bush supporter, I believe.

Ohio is such an odd state (I grew up there). On one hand, you have absolutely terrible economic conditions. Unemployment in Cleveland is around 15%, and the property market is so desperate that you can get a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom appartment with a balcony in a really good neighborhood for under $1000 a month, and you can buy a 20 room mansion for around $400,000. But you also have this Mainstreet, USA mentality where people vote with their bibles.

Gah, I hope Kerry takes Ohio.

I don't know enough about either candidate to support either of them without bias, but I know I don't want my president to look like Lurch from the Addams Family, so Kerry's out. :P

Well Janine, we know if you had your way, it would be Brad for president. ;)

sumiregusa 11-03-2004 04:22 AM

Oh if only...:mischief:

"Why Mr. President...I do believe I've dropped my pen under your desk. I'll only be a second..."

THREE HOURS LATER...

"Well I must say, I'm very impressed with your...fiscal planning, Mr. President..." (eyes wander south)

miss blue sky 11-03-2004 04:26 AM

JMO but I think Kerry is hella more attractive than Bush. But maybe that's because whenever I see Bush I just want to PUNCH HIM IN THE HEAD. I think he's a completely tasteless, classless ass-hole to the first degree.

right now, my mantra is "absentee ballots, absentee ballots, absentee ballots.."

 Janine. Carrying on the great Clinton legacy ;)

Terpsichore 11-03-2004 04:27 AM

OHIO!! PLEASE VOTE KERRY!! I'm make sweet sweet love to you if you do. *bats eyelashes*

MichaelVartanIsSexy, it's Michael and Justin from Queer as Folk. :)

Muahaha, Janine. Hot.
