This is 'life' ... so far (thoughts and reflections of the show)

So, we haven't heard anything from ABC about showing the last two episodes, so I thought I would start a thread for the episodes/archs/characters that we have seen as of now. It's more of a reflection. So let's get it started and start discussing what we loved/hated about the show.

Jen - If you wanna top this, seeing as though its a general 'episode/show' discussion, then go for it.

I loved how real it was. Honestly, it was high school all over again, and that was fun.

Yeah. I don't think any other teen show I've seen seemed as real as this show. It was like reality tv (only it didn't suck).

At first I felt it had similar plotlines to Dawson's Creek, but I realized the plots may have been similar, but the execution was entirely different. I was impressed how they handled Dino's parents seperating. I liked the pacing of the show.

It reminded me of My So Called Life with the slow motions of the boy's opions .. which I absolutely loved. I had a lot of potential since it was so real.

Ken- I topped it for you.

I'm sick and on killer meds so I'm too out of it to discuss, but I'll definitely post later.

I really like how it was from the guys point of view and also the friendship between the 3 guys. You don't see too many friendships like that and it was very real and refreshing.

I would have topped it if I saw it before right now lol

I like how they are all real, you can relate even when the guys are being @ssholes or when the girls do anything. I don't think any other show has the effect.

I think it was the first show in a guys point of view to get it right. I had so many nostalgiac memories of high school. I mean w/ shows like OTH, The OC, DC, etc, the way its presented, is not necessarily realistic. It was very much fictional, and with this show, the plots weren't out there. They were real.

Hell, the show should have been called: real life, as we know it.

Im gonna miss it, and there won't be anything else like it, ever!

That is so true Kenny. LAWKI definitely understood what it was really like to be a teenager. I remember in HS that was how guys and girls acted, it's one of the main reasons why I got attached to this show. The shows you listed are more drama-orientated that didn't catch the true aspects of what being a teenager is like...exactly what you said, they're very fictional.

I miss LAWKI! I pray that another network picks it up! This show is too good to go unseen!

Im so glad we get the final 2 episodes in March. Im so thankful we get to see what happens with Jonathan and that girl. Deb and her internship. Jackie and Dino. Mike and Annie and Mia. Ben/Sue. Just so much to wrap up. And I hope the writers gave us some closure in Ep13.

They definelty have to release a dvd now!

I was really looking forward to seeing this show when I saw the teasers for it. I was thrilled that they would have such a deverse group of people on the show and that it would be more "honest" than many other shows are. However, after watching only a half an hour of the show I had a difficult time ever tuning in to it again. Granted I'm not a teenager, but really wanted to give the show a chance but when everything seemed to be all about that little three letter word that starts with an s and ends with an x well, I tuned out. I also found the whole thing with the mother and the coach having an affair to be to redundant because this type of thing has been done on other shows in one form or another. I also didn't feel that the cast had much chemistry together and that is what makes or breaks a show...that and a "hook" a truly unique prospective that someone else hasn't done. I would much prefer watching My So Called Life to this because I truly could feel more for that show then this one. I wish you all great luck in getting it to be resurrected if is indeed has been cancelled this type of thing has worked before.
