Canuckian Thread: 'Cause seeing the "CTV Original Programming" clip makes us proud!
Seeing as Degrassi is made in Canada, I hope it's okay I started this!
One of my favourite parts of this season was in the premiere when Craig and Emma went to Stouffville to find her biological dad and Joey was like "What's in Stouffville?!" My friend lives there and we make fun of him so much I'm from Ontario so it's cool seeing the TTC and stuff. Proud Canucks - peachybubbles - starsprite - Effy11 - icecrystals - Johnnie - spazzie - *Lizzie* - robinepowell - Virtue - shortycm18 - krystafitpatrick8 If you want to be added, drop a post! Stolen from the Gilmore Girls Canuckian thread ( ) to start us off Cool Facts about Canada 1. Crispy Crunch 2. smarties 3. The size of Canadian footballs, football fields and one less down. 4. The fact that the new "world cup" is too stupid for words when compared to the old Canadian trophy 5. Lacrosse is Canadian 6. Hockey is Canadian 7. Basketball is Canadian (invented by a Canadian so technically it is, lol) 8; the biggest flags ever seen at the Olympic closing ceremonies were Canadian (twice...and the second one was smuggled in after a rule that was made because of the first one) 9. Mr Dressup kicks Mr Roger's butt! 10. Waaaaaay better beer commercials 11. Much Music kicks MTV's butt 12. Maple Syrup kicks Mrs Butterworhs butt (don't know about Aunt Jemima) 13. Tim Hortons kicks Dunkn Donut's ass 14. IN the war of 1812 we burned down the White House and most of Washington. 15 Canada has the largest French population that never surrendered to Germany 16. Our "Civil War" was led by a drunken, insane William Lyon Mackenzie 17. Our civil war was a bar fight that lasted a little less than an hour. 18 the only person arrested and hanged after our civil was was an American mercenary who slept in and missed the whole fight, showing up just in time to get caught. 19. We knew that plaid flannel was in WAY before Seattle did. 20. The Hudson Bay company once owned 1/11th of the Earths's surface 21. The average dog sled team can kill and devour a grown human in less than three minutes 22. We don't have much of a taste for powdered bear testicles, but we know who does, and we are willing to sell them. 23. We still don't know what to do with all the parts of a buffalo. 24. We don't marry our kinfolk 25. We invented snowmobiles, jet skies, velcro, zippers, zambonis, and the handles on cardboard beer cases. 26. We can hum the theme song to Definition. 27. We know that any scale that says water boils at 212 and freezes at 32 is asinine 28. We've all frozen our tongues to something metal, and lived to tell about it. 29. We wear socks with our sandals 30. We can outdrink Americans any day 31. We make Degrassi! __________________

and then I realize, heyyy, it's filmed here! I know I'm a dork, but it's great that something is so popular in the States as well! I never thought that it'd be. I just watched it because I loved-- okay, I thought the people were really funny. I was barely born in the 80s! but their style was hilarious and I thought it'd be wicked to see them again.
Do you guys want me to start making a list of Canadian Degrassi board people? __________________

Wheee Canada rocks!
And we've also supplied the world with notable actors/comedians, examples: Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, Carrie-Ann Moss (who doesn't love Trinity!!) to name a few. A FEW. |

I like the original program ad that comes on before Degrassi.
We have garlic fingers too. And Ketchup chips. If you make a list you can put me on it. __________________

I'm not Canadian, but I must say, Canadians are the best. So many talented, awesome people are from there. I want to be Canadian.

Another Canuck here. I'm actually amazed at how popular the show is in the States, that rocks. And we get the episodes before them!

Mmm, I love ketchup chips I can't imagine them not being available! And Smarties are chocolate covered in that sugar stuff, because Rockets are "Smarties". __________________

Garlic fingers... You can buy them in the store too, though I don't find them to be as good http://www.saskschools.ca/~ischool/A...4/DCP_1900.jpg __________________
