I wish Degrassi had the courage to dial down the cheesy moments and stick with the tough stuff with this Clare storyline.

'Tiles' is a terrible ship name
The rest of the episode was pretty meh; I have nothing to say. __________________

This episode just kinda felt like the writers were treading water until the next plotline. Nothing much to say.
A-Plot. The Clancer storyline continues to be good. I can see Clew from a mile away. Nothing much more to say except I'm happy that Clare is going to get better. B-Plot/C-Plot: Faux-Paris blah blah blah whogivesa******. Tristan, always remember: Straight until proven gay. Miles handled it well though, which makes him a lot more open-minded than other teen boys his age. Alli's bad-accented boyfriend I couldn't care less about. At least Alli chose her assignment over her date with him. I am happy that they reminded us this is supposed to be an educational trip and that the kids do have to turn in assignments. Also, I liked Jenna and Maya just hanging out playing guitar. Nice touch. __________________

I didn't like this episode as much as others. Next week's promo doesn't look exciting. I like maya and jenna hanging out with Alli.

Well the Clare plot was good once again. I enjoyed a lot like her hospital friend dying of the same cancer she has and the little kid coughing in her face and her freaking out because if she caught it it could kill her. I'm a little annoyed there hasn't at least been a mention of Jake, Glen or Clare's father though.
The Alli plot is really boring so far. I'd rather be seeing Connor/Jenna doing all the Paris stuff they've been doing. The Tristan/Miles plot was okay. I'm glad he didn't freak out when Tristan kissed him. I like them so far and looking forward to seeing where it goes. |

I hope they don't make this Miles/Tristan thing a "delusional gay gets carried away with wishful thinking" plot. I really dislike the ~predatory gay~ angle. It's about time Degrassi had a bi male character.

I am really impressed with Clare's cancer storyline. I think that it is being handled pretty well, and I am really happy that Clare is going to be okay. I particularly enjoyed Clare's interaction with Drew, and Aislinn is doing a great job. However, I am not liking the whole Paris portion of the episodes, as I am finding the plot lines there to be pretty dull. I am not interested in Alli's storyline at all, and I was hoping for more than what has played out so far.

Just a few thoughts before I get the thread up for tonight's episode.
-Maya and Jenna hanging out playing guitar was great. In fact, that whole scene was terrific- easily the best one in this whole Alli in love in Paris story line. -At this point, I can't bring myself to care who Miles ends up with. They could have used this trip as a way to show the 3 new characters (yes, Winston I didn't forget about you even if the show may have) bonding with the established characters in a loose natural way but instead they went the obvious love triangle/quadrangle way. Very disappointing, but not surprising. -I realize that the levels of fluency with French would vary with characters and that's understandable, but really, Miles is the only one that understood the teacher when she asked them to buy food? -Speaking of teachers, did Madame Jean-Aux get lost somewhere in the middle of southern France? Maybe she's back in Toronto hanging with Dallas, who seems to have pulled a disappearing act himself? -Very much enjoyed the little bit with the two kids talking about Clare throwing up. Totally a conversation you could expect a couple kids their age to be having. -I mostly enjoyed the Clare plot, as it was refreshing to see her in a lighter mood while around Drew and the rest of the campers. -The "I'm going to fight this! "I'm going to win!" moment made cringe. I feel bad for Aislinn because it's the type of line that's going to make any actor look silly. -Seeing that moment with Clare, Eli and Helen embracing at the end just highlighted the glaring absence of the rest of Clare's family from this plot. -I would have loved to have seen Connor and Jenna going to the Catacombs. I'm guessing I would have enjoyed that more than any plot in any episode this summer. __________________
