Such a stunning young woman! Photographer is David Leyes.

I found the photo at this great interview with Paula: Former Degrassi star Paula Brancati on how she became a successful producer - Do - June 2014 - Toronto

“When we had family functions and someone would ask me to sing, I was so embarrassed and nervous, but somehow I always felt like being onstage gave you this path to dive into someone else’s life and really slip into a character.”

Her childhood was, happily, filled with opportunities to get up onstage. She took music lessons at the Thornhill School of Music, was a member of the CharActors Theatre Troupe and attended at St. Elizabeth Catholic High School where she was in the regional arts program.

“I was in the choir and sang every day at school,” Brancati recalls, as she enthuses about her high school years. “It was such a supportive program. I felt like everyone could march to their own drum beat there and everyone seemed to flourish.”
There is much more at the source but I just found it very interesting to see that she is a shy person since Jane isn't. But I guess that is just a compliment to her as an actor.

I feel like I should drop off the link to her production website (that she runs with Michael Seater) as well: BrancSeater Productions. Paula is a busy girl!

^ I see Chloe Rose and Joy Tanner (along with LWD alumni Ashley Leggat) are involved in those projects also. Very cool!

Nicole, thanks for posting that article. You save me a bugging you Tweet.

I hope at some point we'll be able to see Sly Cad online.

The cast in this project is like a trip down Canadian teen show memory lane.

Oh and what the hell is it with Canadians and their cottages?

And the trailer is out!

Is this a feature length movie? Or a short?

Pretty sure it's a feature. I can't imagine it not after watching that trailer.

I think there's only one person in that cast who I don't recognize from Degrassi or another Canadian teen/kid show (Radio Free Roscoe, Strange Days at Blake Holsey, Life with Derek, Zack Files).

The trailer for Sly Cad.

"Jack, John, Jake, however you may know him, knows how to get by. He lives well, sailing on the wealth of mature women's desires. He does this by following his strict Rules of a Sly Cad. Rules that will get in his way when he goes on a twenty-four hour adventure through city and woods with the young and enticing Gabi."

Did anyone catch Paula talking about People Hold On on Etalk? Sounds like they interviewed other cast and crew members as well - including Chloe. I forget if there is a way for those of us in the US to watch Etalk and I don't think it is up online yet. But point me in that direction if there is.

First Place Together IPF Proof of Concept (2015) (link because NSFW language)
Quote:
Teaser concept trailer for the (potentially) upcoming Independent Production Fund (IPF) web series about a couple moving in together for the first time, and all the complications that arise. Written & Directed by Jeremy LaLonde (Sex After Kids), starring Tommie-Amber Pirie (Bitten), Kristian Bruun (Orphan Black), and Paula Brancati (Degrassi).
Dropping this off as well as I catch up with anything Paula on YouTube: Michael Seater & Paula Brancati on The Social (Dec. 18th, 2014).

Thanks for dropping that off. Good to see Canada has annoying talk shows too.

Just in case you thought Degrassi was the only show Paula was on.

I LOVE Being Erica and adored Paula's character. I actually preferred her to Jane, I think.

I only have seen a handful of Being Erica episodes, including the one the two Jakes were in. It was really good. Hmm...is there a way to track this show down online?

Since this thread hasn't been bumped in awhile let's start with TIFF 2014...

OH yeah, I wanted this thread bumped so we could talk about We Are Disorderly. Drake really stole the her thunder eh? Producer Paula Brancati attends the screeing of 'We Are Disorderly'... News Photo | Getty Images

Still no word on when the rest of us may be able to see it, but it is getting a screening next month at Cinéfest Sudbury.

The write-up from the festival's site.

Quote:
People Hold On is a genre bending film that explores the extended family of friends we all have, and how we face the approach of adulthood together, as time pulls us apart. It’s a younger, quarter-life crises skewed The Big Chill. An intimate exploration of relationships, friends, enemies, love and loss. Set during a weekend at the cottage, the gang reunites for their annual lakeside romp. A break-up, a new job, and a fracture prevented them from getting together last year, and now they’re trying to patch the tear in their proverbial jeans.
On another note, I now realize that the one guy from that cast who I didn't recognize is one of the We Are Disorderly trio. Ha!

I hear she's a funny lady and Adamo described her as his Italian sis. I guess that explains why this might be the second longest episode yet.
