Degrassi - Zig Novak Apprecation #1: Because we know next to nothing about him, and that just makes us all the more curious!

Seriously, what do we know about this guy?
-He looks like Eli.
-He's portrayed by Ricardo Hoyos.
-He's likely to be friends with the other grade nines.
-He's new to Degrassi.

??? Alright.. I just wish we had a little more info on him, like a character bio or something. To be completely honest here, I am curious about him for the most part because he's attractive. It'd be nice to have some more eyecandy on degrassi after all.. I'm certainly not complaining! I'm also excited for Tristan as well though, especially if he is gay because we've never quite had a homosexual character with a personality like his before... So confident about it and such. And Tristan just seems like a pretty confident guy. Heck, his character description SAID he was confident. It'll just be nice to see someone who's not so insecure about it for once, someone who doesn't struggle with it and embraces it. Kind of like Zane, but we never really saw much of his story. He was mostly just a plot device for Riley.

Enough about Tristan. "Zig".. I'm just really looking forward to him. And I'm looking forward to him even more purely because we DON'T know much about him at all. It keeps us guessing. I hope they'll do something good with his character. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with all the upcoming grade nines, though Maya does sound a little boring I've got to admit.

Ricardo is adorable. I swear he looks like Justin and Munro's love child from the future. (No seriously, doesn't he?) I'm super pumped about the new niner group and I can't wait till we get the new character descriptions. I'm sure these new kids will have a lot to offer.

I think Maya's the one I'm looking forward to the most.

Umm....Zig, well, I hope it's a nickname and not short for Ziggy or Zigfried or some other "Z" name. We haven't had a true nickname character for a while. I'd like another one.

Other than that..I can't say I have much feel for him one way or the other. Looking forward to see him and the other niners, though.

But I don't really have much to say about this kid.

Well looks like he'll be at the center of another love triangle. On the bright side maybe that means he's a player~ I would like that very much.

He sounds a little like a throw back to KC circa season 8 which makes me happy because while I love the route they've taken with KC, when I look back I think it's clear that his character could have easily gone a completely different way and that might be the direction they take Zig. Aside from his home life which I'm excited to learn about, I hope that Zig doesn't settle down and actually date anyone too soon. I still think we need a real "player" at Degrassi.

Anyone have any theories about where his character might be headed?

So on the one hand we've got the troubled home life ala KC and Sean. And on the other, we have a bad boy using Degrassi as his playground sounds like stuff we've seen with Jay, Fitz and even Spin at times over the years. My guess is we'll eventually see more of the former, but I'm hoping the latter gets a good amount of play as well.

gah!! troubled home life... i wonder what they mean exactly? also i hope they focus a great deal more on that than his love life, season ten and the first half of eleven have focused way too solely on relationships. i want angst.. angst that has nothing to do with a breakup or whatever, that scene is getting way too played out. and you know, i have always thought a player would be interesting to watch.. one that doesn't quit his game so easy. definitley looking forward to ziggy now!

so I dont know if this is spoilery or not.. its kind of a dream i had! in one of the promos tori talks about her “boyfriend” (zig, obviously) and tristan is trying to break them up. then it says in one of the episode descriptions tristan may break her heart in the process. so, here's my theory.. what if zig's dating tori and maya at the same time or just seeing maya on the side, and somehow tristan finds out about it?
