Jamie, that's how I always saw it. Emma and Ash both have Caitlin traits. I also see a little bit of Lucy in Ash, but mostly Caitlin.

J.T.'s more Yick than Joey. Nerdy best friend, interested in Tessa/Manny, disorganized, ditches nerdy best friend for awhile (Arthur/Toby), helps best friend out athletically, dumped for an older crush (Joey/Craig). Now the writers seem to be taking J.T. down the path of Simon.

The scenes in Dream On(I think) of DH and Karma Chameleon of (TNG) both showed some Caitlin/Ash parellals. They both had scenes were the best friend (Mya and Terri) were lecturing the other (Cailtin/Ash) about stringing two guys along. Then both Caitlin and Ash said something nasty to their best friend about how they don't understand.

Good point, Leigh. Caitlin was also Miss Avery's pet, and Ash was Miss Kwan's pet. I don't think it's a coincidence that Ash may be pursuing journalism in the coming season.

if they were trying to make crash "the next jaitlin", i think they would only be doing it because S/E is done and over. the best bet would be trying something different much like leigh said. i dont see the purpose of being repetitive.

Exactly. if jaitlin werent included in DTNG or even if they had a minor role, it would be more accepting but its not because jaitlin are alive and well in DTNG. but Mayberry, you made a point, thats prob why they had ashley go the journalism route finally creating her to be caitlin part2 as emma's character begins to move far farrrr away from caitlin with episodes like Secrets. I honestly think, and people may beg to differ, but i honestly think that its because eman will never happen again.

i think they are trying to have us "figure it out on our own". since ltely its been getting kinda obvious with ashley having a random interest in journalism. but i'm not lking the idea of making crash the next jaitlin, everything about the two couples' dynamic is totally different, its a mad bad idea. kinda like the whole joey/tessa and cranny parallels, while they have similar storyline, i think the dynamics of the two couples is very different.

Yeah Crash doesn't really have that opposites attract thing going on. Unless of course one considers an extrovert attracted to introvert.

i think thats it. and with the fact that ashley is not showing much musical interest anymore, i def think they are trying to make them th next jaitlin. but if they are supposed to be the next jatilin, i dont see DTNG ending on a good note for them.
