^ I saw that too. Guess we won't be getting any interviews
So I just re-watched Love Lockdown. You know the conversation Eli and Clare have after seeing Chuck Palahniuk? After Clare says his characters are sociopathic, Eli responds, "But to be a truly great writer, you need some damage to draw on." Do you think that was possible foreshadowing? But yeah. Love Lockdown = happier times. Last edited by EClare_x3; 04-03-2011 at 08:09 PM |

Love Lockdown part 1 is always going to be one of my favorite Eclare episodes. Their first date was too adorable.
I don't know if it was foreshadowing or not but either way Eli is right. Experience is what makes a good writer. Having that damage really does make your work deeper and more meaningful. Eli's story was creepy but I don't think it should be taken as evidence he's abusive or that the relationship is abusive. Do I think Eli would really slit her throat and drink her blood? no. |

But hey! It's really short but they come in at :52. I seriously love Aislinn's response to Munro saying that about her and how fired up she gets. Haha. And their J. Beebz shoutout! You can tell they both aren't huge fans of his, hahaha. YouTube - KCA's Orange Carpet - etalk 4/4/11 |

But I do think that that whole scene served a purpose other than trying to trick us into thinking the worst. It wasn't just there to make us worry about Clare's safety (even though I really don't think we have to). It was there to make a point about Eli's current level of sanity. Even though Eli probably doesn't want to apply the story to his life in a literal fashion (by actually "becoming one" with Clare ), he obviously makes some sort of connection between the story and his relationship with Clare. I mean, the fact that the protagonist of the story, Malcolm, wants to protect his lover and Eli wants to protect Clare...there's a clear similarity. I mean, yes, some authors write disturbing pieces that are inspired by events in their real life, but the way Eli said it, coupled with how over-protective he's been lately...it suggests that the story's significance to Eli is more than that of just any other story. So I do think the story itself is somewhat symbolic for Eli. It seems to have some deeper, metaphorical meaning for Eli, you know? Like, I think it means that he would go to extreme measures to protect Clare. Not that he's crazy enough to kill her, but that he's kind of possessive enough to do something crazy to keep her safe right now. Like, oh, I don't know...locking her in a room with him. Another thing to note, is that there's clearly something wrong with Eli if he thinks it's perfectly normal to tell Clare that the story he wrote about a guy killing his girlfriend was inspired by her. I mean, Eli didn't even see the obvious signals she was giving him that showed how much it freaked her out. You could read it in her face, and yet Eli didn't notice at all. |

^ Yes, that explained it in a way that made sense. I definitely agree with you.
Cute. Creepy. I like that they're at least giving it a little buildup on twitter if we don't get any in Chasing Pavements. Makes me think there is going to be a scene where Eli gets jealous Clare's paying attention to Alli. . . since the dance is Alli's idea, along with her being back and the math placement tests. I want it to happen! |

I'm so nervous for the promo on Friday. I mean, I'm excited for Chasing Pavements (Part 2) too, but... after that we'll be getting a promo for Drop the World...
