Hahaha omg the title. I love them both. I'm actually not really getting incest vibes since the first episode... Fiona/Riley was sweet and I weirdly loved Declan/Jane. (When they first kissed... OMG.) But I keep seeing everyone talk about the apparent "incest" between these two. I think they're just super close, being twins, and they have a really sweet sibling bond. I hope Degrassi doesn't go there (and I don't think it will), but the insinuation in the premiere WAS a bit odd.

Okay I don't really know why I got started on that mini-rant without anyone inciting it. Back to my original point... I love them!

Hahahah. The title made me laugh as well. Ever sense the premiere I felt that they had this very awkwardly close, incest vibe. They are both pretty interesting though.

Hahaha. Yeah, I definitely got that incest vibe too. I didn't see that coming in the premiere but when I saw Fiona's reaction, I was like "Woah wait a minute...what? Nah...Degrassi wouldn't do incest...would they?". But anyway I love them nonetheless

Incest or no incest I really like their scenes together. I love that they have each other's backs. I'm hoping we'll get to see them closely involved in each other's plotlines.

In that one promo of these two they reminded me of Sebastian and Kathryn. I didn't say anything in the description at ACES but was all surprised when someone else commented on the similar vibe they picked up. Degrassi isn't going to cover consensual incest, I'm sure. I think it is just a super close bond that twins have. Or perhaps in Declan & Fiona's case, maybe something unusual that developed because of absentee parents. Like I said in the premiere thread, there is something about them that reminds me of Brenda & Billy's sibling relationship in Six Feet Under. That grew to be an unhealthy relationship though because, well, they are both nutjobs. There is no doubt in my mind that B&B loved each other the most though; it's the only constant in their lives.

I got the Sebastian and Kathryn right away! In fact I've been wondering if the writers are using the movie as the inspiration for the characters. I rewatched it with my friend the other day and both of noticed that one of the lines from the movie was said by Fiona in 901. I forgot what it was though. I'll have to watch it again.
Although after 903 I can't quite picture Fiona in the Kathryn role.

I don't know how to feel if there is/was any incest. I mean I've shipped incest before, though. Like in the Narnia series...so I'm not sure about that. And I would also be conflicted if that ever happened because I have really liked Fiona/Riley (please have Riley be bi ). But they are really there for each other in the end. I can definitely ship that

I find myself thinking about these two lately (and I've only seen up to 903...I'm trying to do the whole watch it live on TV experience thing). I think what's going to happen is that kids are going to make off hand comments about Fiona and Declan's relationship, which puts pressure on Fiona to want to have her first sexual experience and dismiss rumors. I just don't know how exactly all this is going to fit into Riley's plot. Maybe she'll get one right after his big 2 parter?

LOL TITLE! Love it. Hated Heather & Erica though, love Declan & Fiona. I say go there. Do an incest storyline. 100% intense.

I agree with everyone about the Cruel Intentions vibe. They're rich, calculating, and oddly close for siblings- blood or not. I don't think Degrassi would "go there" in this instance, but there are definite undertones, intentional or not. I thought the opening credits was a big part of that too- the way Fiona holds out her hand and Declan just takes it and helps her out of the car. My brother would absolutely not do that for me- and I'm glad he wouldn't, I'd think it was totally weird. In any case, I find them both very interesting on an individual level and together. I hope we get to see more of their home life eventually.

I really liked their plot in Heart Like Mine. I'm not usually into incest ships, but I like Declan's scenes with Fiona more than with Holly J or Jane. I love how much they care about each other. It's adorable.
