I liked this episode! Reminded me of retro Degrassi. A really good episode. It was sort of like a watered down version of Secret, but it was different in a lot of ways as well.
I'm surprised that Alli lost her virginity so early on in the series. I did not think that she was going to go through with it. But I'm not complaining because I thought it was really realistic. I also liked how they didn't make Johnny into the bad guy. I love the part at the end when he said that he was a virgin too. That surprised me but at the same time kind of made sense. I felt sorry for him. I'm still not really a Johnny fan though. I just can't take his character seriously at all. There were a lot of good scenes. The best was definitely the one with Clare and Alli in the nurse's office. That scene was so sad and honest! When she said that she didn't even want to touch him afterwards... As for the subplot... Peter and Mia always make me cringe. But they broke up so YAY! But why are they making it so that Darcy is "living" in Kenya now? grrr they're ruining my hopes of her returning even if it's only for 1 episode. And it doesn't really make sense for her to permanently live there. Doesn't she miss her family? lol. Luckily I'll get my season 7 DVD in the mail shortly and I'll get to watch lots of Parcy then __________________

Over all, I liked the episode.
Some thoughts... I thought Melinda fared better in this episode than HOTM. I was surprised that Alli lost her virginity so soon into her time on the series (and in the first 10 mins of the episode), still, it worked for me. I like that she was disappointed/regretful about her first time. It's not always what people make it out to be... actually, it usually isn't. The Clare/Alli friendship is really sweet. I find Johnny/Alli endearing as well, the end was cute. Can I just say that I really like the dynamic of the niners? I really like the addition of them to the show. Subplot... I've never been a fan of Pia. It was nice to see Riley again. I like that Darcy keeps getting referenced and isn't just being forgotten. I was happy when Mia ended it with Peter. |

Let's see....
*Melinda's definitely improved over the course of the season, which is a good thing considering all the time she's been getting. *Yeah, I was also surprised to see Alli give it up so quickly. *Not surprised, though, to find out that Johnny was a virgin. Not after the way he was acting after they had sex. Good job by both Scott and Melinda in that scene. *Plus points for both plots involving academically-geared extracurricular activities. *Johnny and Alli might be my favorite couple on the show right now. They've got a great chemistry going and there's a great combination of awkwardness and tenderness going on with them. *No might about it, Alli and Clare are my favorite friendship on the show. The scene with them hanging out with Johnny, Bruce and company in the ravine was priceless. Probably my single favorite moment of the episode. *Speaking of Clare, seeing her and the Shep together reminds that we still haven't seen him apologize to her. *Assuming Alli and Johnny continue into the 9th season as a couple, they'll have to touch on the angle of her parents and her relationship. As for the subplot..... *I must be in the minority, but I really have no issues with Peter and Mia together. I'm not exactly a fan, but I definitely don't dislike them either. *I am happy, though, to see more mention of Darcy, although I suspect this might be the last we hear about her for a while. But, anyway a nice follow up from some of the earlier moments we've seen (Peter fishing out her letter out of the trash, noticing Clare wearing Darcy's clothes, etc) *It was nice to see a couple of different characters in Riley and Anya in the best friend roles in this plot. Overall, I thought this was a good episode, enjoying both plots. __________________

So I just watched the episode, and overall, I really enjoyed it.
I love the friendship the niners have, it doean't feel forced like the Juniors. And Johnny/Alli have really grown on me, and they are one of my faovrite couples this season. I've noticed Reese has been in the past 3 epiosdes, I really hope for more development of him and his girlfriend next season. FINALLY NO MORE PIA!....but I think they will get back together in the next episode, considering the PC spoilers. I was hoping for more Darcy next seaosn, but now I'm really doubting it... |

Alright, Hi this is my first time posting on the Degrassi boards...
but anyways, I think this episode was probably one of the best ones of this season so far (Next to the Jane Says episodes which I also loved). and I really love Alli and Johnny, I like how they're developing their characters with each other. __________________

Really good A-Plot, meh B-Plot.
I LOVE the entire dynamic the niners share and I want to cast to have more younger kids. This show really benefited from The-N's new direction. Very surprised Alli gave it up so early. Johnny being a virgin too..well that isn't so surprising now that I think about it. Alli's reaction afterwards was very realistic, she was caught up in acting so grown up that she did something she wasn't ready for. Johnny and Alli (Jalli? Ahnny?) suddenly makes a lot more sense and they are my favorite couple thus far. Meh to Peter and Mia. Mia should just go to another orgy. __________________

I loved this episode!
I'm glad that Alli actually did give up her virginity...I hate when they always make a big deal about that in promos and it actually doesn't happen. And it was kind of nice to see the show deal with the emotional consequences of sex (instead of getting pregnant or getting an STD). I'm kinda disappointed that they made Johnny to be a virgin though lol. But whatever...I love these two! The subplot was just boring. I don't care about Mia/Peter, so I don't care that they broke up either. |

I re-watched this episode on The N and it still holds up.
In the beginning when Alli was watching TV (after storming into the house pissed off) and later on when she was standing in front of the mirror after she got home after having sex reinforces just how much of a positive it is that Degrassi doesn't use 25-year-olds to play teenagers. __________________
