What irritates me more is that the opposition still claims she's a Mary Sue after everything she's done. A "Little Miss Perfect" ( :rolleyes: ) wouldn't use Eli like she did, yet she still gets flack for it even when she's technically fulfilling what the haters say they want to see her do. Argh, I'm so incoherent here.

Aren't Mary Sues supposed to be loved by all the other characters in the book/movie/cartoon/television show/whatever? And most of the time---atleast from what I see, they always end up getting what they want and never make mistakes.

Clare wanted her parents to stop fighting/not get divorced. It isn't happening.

She was dumped by KC for a girl that she thought was her friend. Then, months later, KC used her to cheat on a test. She made the mistake of letting him.

The Shep certainly didn't like her! She spoke up against him.

She made the mistake of stealing Declan's story in season nine.

Her best friend left the school.

She set off a stink bomb.

She used her boyfriend to piss off her parents and get them to take notice of her.

She's losing the only home she's ever known.

Exactly, and yet people still whine and moan at the fact that she's finally going to get a serious A-Plot. I think it's probably because she's in those respective episodes back to back. I'm just happy she's getting some recognition...and a good storyline, for that matter.

I actually love that she got the B-Plot for LL. That way it kind of showed what was going on Clare's life to head on into "Umbrella".

wow! It's not like they haven't had B-plots lead into A-plots before. It's just because it's Clare. Only then is it an issue.

which i don't get...Clare has been on the show the longest out of the newer cast...(she was there even before the merger of Lakehurst/Degrassi).. and she has only had one Aplot.... in season 9 Innocent When You Dream.... any other time she has had a plot its either been a b or c plot or she has been apart of someone else's.... people need to get over themselves.. we put up with Jenna getting MAD a plots this season.. let Clare shine Gosh DARN it!! and end of rant!!!!!

Like KC for example in Breakaway and Better Off Alone. It's called a setup, something which everyone claimed the show has been lacking along with continuity.

That legit makes me angry, lol. The only A plot Clare has ever really gotten is Innocent When You Dream and well...it wasn't exactly an episode filled with greatness.

I think its been proved that she can hold her own, im really excited to see her in an A plot that is decent!

I hate when people are so...idk what word to use...but when they bash a character for something (like the whole Miss Perfect thing) and then when there is evidence that it's not true (ex: Clare throwing Eli under the bus), they go ahead and bash the character for giving them exactly what they wanted. Like wth? And I think it's incredibly insensitive for people to rag on her about how she's handling her parent's divorce. I saw some comments (not on FF) about how she was behaving childishly and being ridiculous or whatever. Clearly they have no idea what it's like to see your family falling apart.

Also I am very excited to finally see her in a (serious) A plot. Aislinn definitely deserves it, she's brilliant.

i think people just think shes perfect because she hasn't done anything outrageous like get pregnant or something...and honestly im tired of that storyline haha

Of course she has probably a better mind set of what is right and wrong due to her sheltered life, i don't think people bring that aspect into it. All i know is I sure as hell don't want her to rebel like Darcy did lol

That's probably it. I really think that teen pregnancy is kind of overplayed on the show. We had Manny who got an abortion. Liberty, who put her child up for adoption after JT overdosed, Mia who had her kid at thirteen/fourteen and came to Degrassi, a teen mom. And now Jenna. Who didn't even know she was pregnant until the fifth month(she should've been on the Discovery Channel or whatever channel the show is on----I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant rather than, The Next Teen Star).


My thought of it is, that she's learnt alot from her sister's---as well as Alli's mistakes.(like with the internet friend/sexy pictures, sexting, etc.) She makes mistakes, but none that put her in too much danger like some, or one's that are too outrageous. And I know that sexting does happen---as does people posting sexy pictures on the internet, but Clare has seen how wrong those types of things can go. Darcy's internet friend, Adams, found out where she lived because of the Degrassi logo in one of those pictures that she posted and Alli's pictures that were meant for Johnny's eyes only, got spread around.

Watching what happened to Darcy is enough to make Clare know better IMO.

Me neither, but I don't care to try. I also have my share of characters I dislike. Some with good reason, others just because. You can't rationalize every negative emotion you have and I sometimes find it funny when haters give argument that fit other pairings and characters as well. Clare hangs only with Eli and Adam? Most of her conversations were about Eli? Well hello to you. After Sav got together with Holly J how many scenes did he have without her? Clare acts out of character? I don't think Holly J can be any nicer that she is being right now. And that's only one example! What about Drew and Alli or Riley and Zane? Jenna and KC? all of those things haters complain about apply to those couples as well.

Very true. I have an unexplainable hate for Ashley and Jenna, they just irk me and i don't know why! lol

See i don't really have a problem with a character having storylines involving their relationships. Because, thats how it always is even back in the earliest season's, I think its just because its Clare and haters like to find any reason possible to hate. Im guilty of that too! I just find Clare to be such a likable character
