It was Fandom March Madness, so tons and tons of TV shows are pitted against each other and people have to vote for the best character. It's here -- it ended already.

But Degrassi was one of the shows listed under "teen drama" in the preliminary round, and it's ridiculous how long the list of characters is because it includes every season. I wonder if you can guess who won...

Tbh I never understood the Ashley hate, but that's a topic I probably shouldn't bring up.

ADAM won. Ellie came in second. The votes were really scattered though... too many characters to choose from. (I voted Darcy!)

I was just lurking the Flare thread and saw that there's an actual Degrassi couples March Madness going on too. And of course, the title couples of this thread are pitted against each other... but we won't get into that here. haha.

Yeah, I just went and checked and saw that Adam won. He wouldn't get my vote, but I don't mind him usually.

Yeah...I was more upset about pitting Crash against Sellie. But if Crash has to lose to anyone, I'd want it to be them. Not that it matters who wins this round because then they are up against the monster that is Eclare.

Whatever. I hate survivors. Let's never ever do one here again, okay?

I'm glad you tolerate me. In all seriousness I really don't get the hate for Ashley and I've seen it everywhere. I feel that Ashley was the most underused and perhaps undeveloped main character of the entire series. She was very important to seasons 1 & 2, but unfortunately after that... she kinda settled into this "girlfriend" role. It felt like she was only there to provide support for her boyfriends, and she and Toby hardly interacted anymore, which was weird. And it didn't help that she disappeared for all of season 5, didn't do a whole lot in season 6, and then vanished just as suddenly in season 7. Even her storylines about her musical aspirations were overshadowed by her boyfriends' competing musical aspirations (both Jimmy and Craig).

SO... I really do like Ashley but I always wished more had been done with her after season 2. I did love that episode in season 3 when she skips school with Paige and Spinner... that was great. That was the last real storyline for her that I can recall.

"Time to be Your 21" by Alexz Johnson was used in the episode. It was weird. I was watching the ep with my mom and she's like "...isn't this song from Instant Star? Why are they playing this?"

I was really hoping the killer would turn out to be someone else. It was too easy.
