How's life amidst covid-19?

How are things going on in your area? It has been months that we are experiencing this Covid-19 pandemic. And it is has been really tough in all aspects.

There have been few cities here in my country that were put on another lockdown due to another surge of infection in their locals. My city on the other hand has been very strict with wearing protective masks and shields and curfews right until now when we only getting fewer cases every day.

Hi

I live in a rural area in the US so we are just now having our surge, with numbers higher every day. In fact, almost every single hospital within 4 hours of here are totally full.

I've been working from home, teaching remotely, since the second week of March when Covid first starting rising in the US. Thankfully, this fall semester, I have taught fully online as well and did all meetings in our department and university virtually.

Hi Carol,

I'm glad that you and your family are safe during this pandemic. I would love to stay out of the city and live in rural areas if given a chance, my city has been pretty toxic recently due to political issues and people crowding different places. I too work from home(well forcefully asked for work-from-home by my boss) and got burnout from working and living alone.

I thought I should share this with you since you may have been experiencing burnout at some point. :)

It's hard to serve food digitally, and people want to go sit at a restaurant and eat, not take-home food and eat it once it's cooled some.

Many bars and clubs around here went back to the prohibition era "Speakeasy" way of running a business. Black out all windows, no exterior lights, cars parked off of the property, and enter/exit a back door.... but they paid the bills. That's likely coming back.

Not everyone is behind this socialist takeover.

City just started lockdown this week. No dining in at restaurants and only essential stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, pet stores, etc. are allowed to stay open. Not that big of a difference since already working from home and buying takeout since this whole thing started in March. But luckily, I live in a Metropolitan area so even though my city is in lockdown, some neighbouring towns and cities aren't yet, so I can still reach a mall that's still open in about 15 minutes to pick up a few things, but unlikely to go there to dine at a restaurant, the risk is still pretty high.

I'm glad that you're doing your part to be safe to yourself and to others. Not all people will do the same thing nowadays. :/
