I'm a moron!

I had a LJ since September, and the guy I was writing about it in it had found it and had been reading. I wrote some really bad things. He wasn't my boyfriend, but he was the main guy/focus in my life. He's not the bad guy for reading it, though. I was lying to him about certain important things. I never realized I was confessing to him unknowingly online. That one is my bad.

He even started quoting me stuff from the journal, and I still didn't get it. I thought there was a chance, but I didn't think he knew about the name Zeppogirl. I still suspected it and made some recent ones locked. Too late because he already knew everything.

Moral of the story - Lock your journals. The person you might be going on and on about could be reading it. I'm also pretty sure he reads what I write on here, too. He quoted something I never wrote on my LJ and I'm pretty sure I wrote it here.

2nd moral of the story - Trust your instincts.

Honestly, I see no pint to these LJ's other then people's need for attention.

If you don't want people reading them why make them public?

I remember when diaries were private.

No offense but I always wondered why people make LJ's, too. I mean with really personal stuff. Everybody can access it so it's not secret anymore...

I take full responsibility for making it public, hence the title to this thread. I don't have a LJ to get attention. I have it to vent.

My truly personal secretive stuff, I didn't put on it. I have a real journal that I keep. I mainly used mine for venting.

Poor Lara. Depending on what you wrote, you may be able to salvage this. But if you wrote truly horrible stuff about him, then it might be best to just cut bait. I mean, if you said that he has a small penis, and he's lousy in bed, then I don't think that he'll get over that, and even if he does, he won't forget. But if you just said stuff like "He gets on my nerves," or "He has the worst taste in clothes" then that's not anything that a guy couldn't get past.

Sometimes it's better to just come out and admit your feelings to someone rather than just writing it down and hoping they'll never find out about it...

Wow that sucks. I do the same thing, but thankfully made sure that it's been kept away from people I know in real life.

I lock my entries that are very personal, or that have names of my friends in them.

And to whoever said LJ's are only for attention - not quite. LJ is a load of fun, and you get to make all these new friends and learn about them every single day. It's no different to posting here, really.

Yeah. I know how that feels a little. For a while I thought my mom was reading my journal when I was writing about some pretty personal, kinda naught stuff, so I started friend-locking those entries and loging out everytime I got off the computer. I pretty much don't care all that much about who reads my journal though...non of my real life friends would be very shocked to see what I write in my journal since I don't do a whole heck of a lot that is shocking or note worthy when I'm not around them. I don't want to lock my journal either because I know it bugs the hell out of me, so why would I do it to anyone else?

I guess if it gets to point where I don't feel comfortable having it public I could change that, but for now I guess I'm just a trusting fool .

I keep my lj locked.

How did he find your journal?

If you don't want someone to find out about what you do online don't give them your important screen names, etc..

I'm sorry that happened. I would hate it.

I friends lock mine...every entry. I don't add people I don't know at all, because you never know who they are. I don't mind people I know a little from FF reading it...its not like they personally really know me or my friends. I also let my friends know if I have other friends on my list. Like, my best friend doesn't lock all of her entries, so I told her that another girl we went to school with (who I was friends with and she didn't know) had the link to my LJ, which means she could access hers through my comments page.

Its a tricky business, but I like the friends locking. That way I can get a bunch of my good friends to comment on whatever issue i'm having without repeating myself twenty bilion times.

My mother has told me she's read my journal. Apparently I left it open on the computer one day... I'm not sure how that happened, but ok. She didn't say anything about my entries - and there's some stuff in there she really didn't need to know - she just asked me not to swear so much.

Though, I don't think that's the first time she had read it, cause I can remember her referencing something long, long before that, and the only way she could have known (that I can think of) is from my journal. Oh well. As long as she doesn't feel the need to talk it over with me, I don't care so much.

Hmm...Well that was just...Silly of you. Heh. Smart people like me don't keep a journal. It's all in the brain, and no one can ever read it.
