I can't wait to see her on Dexter. She's gonna nail it...as usual!

Joy first appears in episode 4 of season 8 and there is speculation that she has a nude scene in her recurring role.

Just saw this post in the News thread and thought I'd bring it over here to discuss. I hope that's okay :)

Is she supposed to have a nude scene or are people just speculating? I don't see the big deal if she does have nude scenes. Most shows that come on networks like Showtime have nudity, so it really shouldn't come as a shock that Joy might have a nude scene. If she's fine with doing it, then more power to her.

I agree with you about people not being able to see Joy as anything other than Haley and NH. It's annoying. People should be excited about seeing Joy in a new role instead of complaining that it won't be the same as OTH or acting like NH will be cheating on each other if and when Joy and James kiss other people in their new shows.

Like you said Steph in reply to that in the News thread, I don't see the big deal. I can see why people would speculate that she is due to it being Dexter and let's face it, most characters have nude scenes BUT it is a)an adult show b)it's not porn and the nudity, if you ask me, is very tasteful c)Joy is an ACTRESS. Why are you watching television shows if you cannot deal with a potential PARTIAL nude scene. Ridiculous.

I completely agree w/ this plus I notice that most characters include recurring characters always have nude scenes, but at least it was more tasteful than trashy... Even though, seeing Joy does nude scenes don't bother me if she has one.. But at the end of the day, it's a job, that's it.. It's not like she making a sex tape.. :lol:

oh, good! now i can talk about how obsessed i am to see this season. not because of joy, no offense, but because of deb's unraveling. like, legit, this show hasn't been good since maybe season three. the promos are convincing me that they are really bringing their a game for the finale though. joy being a part of it should be awesome.

also, after her maw role, (LAWD!!!!!) i hope she gets some juicy stuff to do on here. bless it be any actor that gets to work with mch, but i wouldn't mind watching joy transform into someone else. with the likes of julia stiles and other a list actors, they obviously wouldn't have hired joy to play a homely neighbor or something oth like that. :lol:

I haven't watched the show since s3. I think it went downhill. I also find the whole Deb and Dexter obsession a bit....weird. LOL I loved Rita so I'm bummed they killed her off.

Exactly, Steph. LOL I think the nude scenes have been more than fine and it's not even the point of the scene. But I guess some people will always have a problem with it.

^ I agree even though, maybe some people can't get shake it off when Joy played Haley for nearly 10 years, so I assume that they always see her play Haley, but it's time to refresh since I know that lot of actors/actresses try so hard to shred their character on teen shows for years to play adult roles that they don't want to remind this characters for 10+ years later.. Shrug..

Beside, I never understand why people don't like Rita because she's boring character or what? Plus I don't see any hype in between Hannah and Dexter even I feel like they rush them by in love w/ each other.. :look:

I think that Deb and Dexter obsession are the reason to bring in final season to make it weird or bring them to turn against each other after what Deb did last episode from last season..

Oh yeah, I agree w/ you even though I start watching this show in last month and I think that it went to downhill like that happen in maybe around season 4.. So I can't wait to see how it play out in between Dexter and Deb..

I agree w/ you about Joy's role plus I'm curious to see how it play out since she's living the next door to him and will she know the truth or what..

Plus I notice that they bring ton of guest stars in this final season more than any other seasons, so at least, I hope that this season will be better interesting than before.. :lol:

yes, dexter/deb being romantically involved or emotionally bounded is gross! fictional or not, you can have family that is NOT blood related, so crossing over that line is just a big, fat no in my book.

congrats on her new role but wish Dexter was still good. i'll watch even if the show has been going down hill since season 5.

wish she could have guest-starred on Breaking Bad instead.

I've never seen Dexter, so I have no opinion on the show itself, but I'm looking forward to seeing Joy in a different and, hopefully, more challenging role.

Exactly. I think it's kind of insulting that people are acting like they can't see her as anything other than Haley. And that goes for the rest of the cast, too. OTH is over. It's time to move on.

since when hasn't the oth fandom been a tad nutty and delusional? people still want james and joy to get married. :lol: #whacked
