Thanks for the new thread, Michal! I love the title. My favorite movie is The Elephant Man. It was made in 1980 and is based on a true story. It's probably one of the deepest and saddest movies I've ever seen but at the same time, its protagonist epitomizes true human dignity and inner beauty.

Hi Hanna .

Jen, I finally saw Thor, lol. Your man, Tom, played a meanie! He did a good job though.

I watched that Elephant Man movie once. It was really sad and depressing.

I understand the value and the message of those kind of movies but I hate watching sad movies. I need my happy endings

That's true, but unfortunately a lot of the time movies based on true stories don't have happy endings unless they are sports movies.

I think that maybe what I need from a movie is at least hope. Like, I want to know that even if the movie end badly at least things got better. Or if someone died, at least he died for a good cause. For example; if I'll watch a movie about Anne Frank I'll be really sad because she died at the end, but I will also know that there's some hope there because I know that her father survived the war and published her Diary that inspired a lot of good in the world.
