Help me recall episode season/number/title

I lost interest in the original run of X-Files when Mulder left. I watched the two seasons of the revived series, but I never went back and finished seasons 8 & 9. I'm trying to recall where I left off, but I can't seem to find the episode in any of the episode guides that I've checked. If I can't recall it, I may just go back and start Season 8 from the beginning and watch the last two seasons.

Anyway, the episode that I seem to recall being the last one I watched, though I may be mis-remembering, was about a town that had a bunch of unexplained pregnancies. It wound up the women were in impregnated by a local man who was deformed in some way. I seem to recall visuals of a circus/fumigation tent over a house and it seems like it may have ended with a Cher song. Keep in mind that I'm trying to recall almost twenty years ago and may have several episodes all mixed up together.

Anyway, if this rings a bell to anyone, and you can help jog my memory, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi! welcome to the forum.

That episode was from the 5th season and called “The Post-Modern Prometheus”. It featured Cher’s music and guest starred Jerry Springer plus it was filmed in black and white. It was quite the weird episode

Yep, you're dead on. I just checked it out and that was definitely it. No wonder I couldn't find it. I wasn't looking back far enough. I wonder why in the world I had myself so convinced that that was the last Season 8 episode that I saw? Strange how the mind works.

I guess I'll just go back and start at the beginning of Season 8, just for good measure.

Thanks for the welcome guys and I really appreciate your help.
