The X Files: Fight the Future II?

Greetings. Not a fan, but I did enjoy the series, and am trying to decide wethor or not to keep the movie on DVD.

I have 2 questions.

1. Since I'm not really a fan, should I keep the movie anyway?

2. Will there be a sequal to "Fight the Future" or will it just be a 2nd X-Files movie, and will it continue the story arc that was featured in the finale?

seccond question....i have NO idea LOL forgetfullness on the designer's part...too long a title?? beats the heck out of me...

third question....whoops did these out of order LOL....sequel to the movie....i think its just going to be a stand alone like the first movie was.....thats what rumors say...*shrug*

Does ANYONE know if there will be a 2nd movie and what it will be about?

First the first XF movie is really just called "The X-Files." "Fight the Future" was tacked on in promotion/publicity and subsequent DVD/VHS release.

Second, as numerous people have said, there is talk of a second XF movie that will be a stand alone monster of the week starring David and Gillian. That is all that is fact right now. No ONE, not even David, Gillian or Chris, knows more than that because no deal has been inked, no script has been written, and nothing has been officially cast.

Im sure hoping its more to do with the show, not stand alone. Kinda means that we ended 9years of the show and no one cares to wrap it up a little neater in a movie. Perhaps if it gets good box office money they will make a third one. The first X Files movie did pretty well at the box office.

I need there to be a continuation! The last ep never screened in Australia, so I never saw the finale of the show. Nothing has never made me this mad before! So I really want them to get together in the sequel, so what I've read they didn't in the finale! That's all I've ever wanted, just a quick pash. Hi, I want to introduce myself, thought I may as well do it on the movie thread... as that's pretty much all I've seen!

Regardless of the short time I've been watching, I the show... can honestly not believe it took me so long to get hooked. We've just started season nine in New Zealand... Lord of The Flies aired last Saturday.

Have also downloaded one episode... getting a couple more at the moment. But with my impossibly slow rural connection speed, it takes years to get them

I've taped every episode of this season so far and have watched them all at least twice. Had to watch the first one a few more times though- because I didn't know who any of the characters were.

The movie is what got me hooked- the whole way through it I was grinning like I'd just won the lottery. Have never seen a movie as fantastic as that one
Although it still took me six viewings to understand what was going on... (!)

I am currently memorising the script, for lack of anything better to do with my time
'Sir, the unthinkable situation that we never planned
for? Well, we better come up with a plan.'

If the next movie is half as amazing as that one I will be the happiest frog on the planet.

I really want to see something new about X Files mythology, but not a stand alone movie. That would be kind of a betrayal to those who have watched the show for so long.

I agree... it's the final chance to wrap things up. Starting on a completely new story would be just be unfair.

I think the shows producers get pushed by the studio to make a movie more accessable which looses the shows continuity. Its just not fair to the lifelong fans if the show betrays the mytharc at all.

Most casual fans that see the movie dont know more than Mulder, Scully, the Smoking Man, and The Lone Gunemen, and probably dont know the latter 2 are deceased.
