TXF was really the first show where I saw them handle topics the other shows didn't even acknowledge, like feminism for example.

Well, I know Gloria Bunker from “All in the Family” was about advocating feminism but it was the early 70’s. But then the 80’s got all sexist again until the X-Files and I noticed the more taboo subjects being confronted or mentioned.

There were other shows in the 90s that confronted taboo subjects like Full House and Blossom but I don't think I realized it back then.

Murphy Brown was an 80’s show that was feminist, I remember.

Yeah, Archie was against anything not white conservative Christian dealing with his feminist daughter and her liberal boyfriend living with him, so episodes would be about how wrong Archie’s thinking would be towards race or sexual anything.
