I was laughing during certain moments.

But not sure if anyone else has seen it but I’ll comment on the joke about Reggie-Something freaking out about the children’s author’s name being different from what he remembered. Cause I had that experience too (along with other people) when I saw the “Berenstain Bears” children’s books and was like “BerenSTAIN Bears??” I could swear when I was little, it was the BerenSTEIN Bears! Warps your mind to think that, so I join other people with that Mandela Effect!

I loved the “alternate reality” of the opening credits of the show and certain episodes of the past with Reggie included especially the “killer cats” episode we are all familiar with!

EDIT: here is a list of other “alternate collective memories”, maybe you will find one you remember wrong with others!

What a weird, hilarious, fun , classic episode. There was some great funny dialogue throughout, the MS banter was top notch once again, and some cute shippy moments too.

Loved the flashbacks to the old episodes with Reggie stuck in the middle of them. Some things were a bit silly but overall it was a fantastic comic episode. Gillian and David have great comic timing.

Quote of the episode from the alien
"We are building a wall..."

SNORT!!

Loving this season so far. G and D have still got it. It feels like the show never went away.

What I really liked about the story and the scenes I saw was the way Mulder and Scully dealt with their own mandela effects.
While Mulder confronts himself with the video and his disappointment afterwards Scully chooses not to taste the jelly. I clearly prefer her decision. Many people struggle with the past and force the moments they think were most fulfilling in their lives to come back just in order to realize that they can’t repeat a situation or a feeling. It would never be the same. Other people don’t force it, cherish what they had, don’t challenge nostalgia and move on, without disappointment. And that’s what Scully did. Look what Mulder misses on the way: He was so busy finding this twilight zone episode that he didn’t recognize Scully who just wanted to go and have dinner with him. A DATE! Reggie was right when he said that it’s not important what happened but with whom you spent the time with. And that was exactly what Mulder didn’t recognize. They both (M&S) did it in the end, last scene, when Scully decided not to eat her jelly in order to remember everything. Then they looked at each other and really saw each other… they finally understood.

A great episode! My personal mandela effect: When I think about the school summer holidays in my childhood I always had visions of two month full of sunshine, swimming pools, spending my time outside with friends, ice crème etc. Of course it’s right that summers are worse now in Germany because of the climate change but whenever I tell my mother about my memories, that summers were better when I was a child, she laughs and says that summers have always been unstable even when I was a child. She could remember many days when I was at home on rainy days feeling bored. Well, my memory was a different one, everything full of sunshine

I really enjoyed the episode! It was so classic Darin Morgan. Jose Chung's from Outer Space is one of my all time favorite eps & this episode felt so much like it in tone.

For some reason I couldn't stop laughing whenever Reggie called Mulder "Foxy" or Scully "Sculls"

Some other faves were of course when Reggie appeared in all those classic X-files moments & when M&S went on their "date" & Scully sarcastically said "well this is romantic" & Mulder was like "isn't it?"

There were just so many great moments & the Mulder/Scully banter was at its best too.

I still have trust issues w/CC so I'm taking each ep one at a time but this one was so far my fave of the season.

I felt so sorry for her. Everything Scully wished for was a date, a normal date!
With dinner, an easy chat, some flirting and maybe more. Mulders sense of a date: Hanging around in a dark and spooky car park, all night long, with a terrible smell of petrol. It's so sad

It almost felt a bit too much like Jose Chung, imo. But it certainly was a great homage.

I like what they're doing with concepts like truth and fake news, this season. That's really clever. It gives the X-Files a fresh new spin. No one needs conspiracy theories in a world where Truth doesn't exist anymore. The government doesn't need to hide anything anymore, since no one can tell truth from fiction any longer. Even Dr They's video was the truth, bu no one would believe it. That's the world we live in now. It's crazy, but it's true.

it totally reminded me of Jose Chung!

The ending was so cheesy, poor Mulder! Scully saying “don’t worry, Mulder, there’ll always be more X-Files” and Mulder “but they gave us all the answers, even Sasquatch... no, it’s not true!!” So hokey!

The ambulance that took Reggie away was like the Ghostbusters vehicle!

I understand Scully not wanting to taste her favorite childhood food cause it might damage the great memories she had of it. My childhood food memory is E.T. cereal (of course, a breakfast cereal based on an alien for me ). I remember it was a crunchy corn? cereal, flavoured with peanut butter and chocolate and I beleive I’ve never had a tastier cereal since then, but I’m afraid to ever get the chance to taste it again cause I might find out maybe it’s actually gross, but tasted good to a 6 yr old’s taste buds!
(Edit: here it is, others also loved it. I can’t believe I’m such a female Mulder, https://www.mrbreakfast.com/cereal_detail.asp?id=133)

So now it’s like “the truth is out there... right in front of your face, but you won’t beleive it” is the motto!

I found funny that Skinman was part of the opening credits although he only spoke one line at the very end.

haha! He remembers Reggie too???

We don't see Skinner in his office and made me curious if that is to avoid capturing a photo of Pres. Trump on the wall forever in the series!

That was funny when they mentioned "hundreds of millions in attendance at the president's inauguration"

That was a typical 'Jose Chung' moment.

It's true we haven't seen a photo of Trump yet, have we??? There has to be one, it's tradition on the show.

Well, I guess there is at least one person not happy about that joke.

tr*mp was shown during season 11, rewatch the "My Struggle III" opening monologue by the CSM, tr*mp is shown a couple times, at least. I really wish that TXF had chosen to ignore the existence of that buffoon. References to him take me right out of any enjoyment I've gotten from an episode when he's been referenced. I hate that. I prefer my XF without tr*mpism.

My New Favorite episode

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode The mention of parallel universes mixed in with the Mandela effect was a stroke of genius. Adding the comic scene from Mulder's childhood memory is going down as a new Classic in my book. This has to go on the books as one of the most wacky X files episodes to ever air. I really like the scene where Skinner comes out of nowhere asking where they're taking Reggie. I thought of another scene from a movie I watched some decade ago. I thought it was a deleted scene from Cameron Crowe's Almost famous. But I guess I am experiencing a little Mandela effect my self because it seems like the scene doesn't exist.

The scene I remember was a Black and white scene and Penny's Uncle or Older male relative comes into shot. The thing is he is the only thing in color. He looks around and says "Where the heck am I," I think the Skinner scene was inspired by either this scene or another scene like it because it is so oblivious it is freakishly funny.

Dr. They gave the episode the Twilight Zone feel sort of... I think it went a little overboard though, into the stupidity factor. I think it was because the video was in color. Id the video had been in black and white I would have said they hit the twilight zone mood right on. I am not sure if the crew just wanted to give it a modern spin or what not but, in my opinion, I think it would have had a more profound impact if the video was in Black and white.

Don't get me wrong the critasism is just that. This episode is now my new favorite X File episodes
