My weekend was TV and eating

Next weekend in Canada is a long weekend for Thanksgiving! And I have to have two TG dinners on Saturday and Sunday cause my siblings are picky about who else is there at the same time they are

Theresa, I love Chester, I went there twice and its very “Dickinson”!

Ugh, one of my co-workers informed me she ordered a book fair to happen in 3 weeks and that’s ruined my October cause those make me anxious especially cause right now is a pandemic and there are more issues about that, then trying to run a normal book fair without all that, plus we both work on different days and since I work Fridays there, I’d have to “close up” but I’m not the TL, I never have run book fairs cause I only work one or two days a week anywhere!

I'm fine, its Canadian TG this long weekend so I get 3 days off rather than 2!

i'm invited to my sister's baby shower in early November, hope that goes well, I don't go to many gatherings lately with the pandemic. They just would like books for the baby as a gift, so now I'm thinking there are way too many good books I could get for my future niece or nephew!

Wow, that does sound like a nice brain break from work for you coming up

What are you going to do? Still do those beaded paintings?

My nieces and nephews span the ages from 18 to almost 9, so it’s going to be fun returning to the baby/toddler/preschool phase again!

No since we moved I haven't. Usually on my days off I wander into town, do food shopping and go for a tea.

Jon's booked Monday off as he's not had a holiday since we came, so we'll no doubt grab lunch somewhere The Thursday I'm heading home to see my family, and friends, super excited!!

Things are going well here too, got quite close with a friend from work so we've made plans for a comic con in november

Sounds like a good break.

Glad you get to be an auntie again, Leanne.

I went out with friends and my husband yesterday, but I got really angry after a long chat about their (the friends not my husband) stupid ideas about Covid vaccines, and then said they didn't think lockdowns were even needed. I got so cross I had to get up and leave the restaurant! Still it was embarrassing to lose my temper so much.

We had a nice first thanksgiving dinner with my brother and his BF tonight, the food was so good!! We played a board game where you have to use picture icons to guess almost anything like a movie or a person or a saying. We had to use our brains for it! Tomorrow is another dinner with another brother and my sister and husband.

Claire, I understand your anger with these people. I’ve pretty much lost any patience with those people by now. They want to choose something that makes zero sense, puts other people at risk, including their own family members and yet still want to live around other people without consequences of their choice. X 10. Its a waste of time to even reason with them.

I'm glad you're enjoying thanksgiving, Leanne.

Thanks, it's nice to talk about it with someone who understands. I actually said to one of them that they had freedoms now because other people had had the vaccine. I never expected a response of everything would have been fine we didn't need those restrictions. It was maddening.

It is really frustrating isn't it Claire. I understand your anguish.

I saw Jon's parents over the weekend and we stayed the night. Then I fell ill, dizzy, fever and everything and I started crying because his parents are vulnerable and I didn't want to get them sick! I got in a right state but I was OK, tested negative and when we got home I rested and everything was fine, just a flu.

Very glad it wasn't covid, Theresa! Its always a bit nerve wracking to get the symptoms and not being sure. Its so weird though, I used to always get this horrible flu/bronchitis thing about twice a year before 2020 and since the pandemic, I haven't had any flu like that. I sometimes don't know how I've managed to avoid the covid so far, since I work in schools of all places with people in them!

I'm feeling hyper today! I'm watching a new comedy series that has 8 seasons that just ended as I started watching in August so I missed the entire 8 years of fandom This always seems to happen with me, finding a show I like after its already over, in this case its Brooklyn Nine Nine, very funny!

I haven’t had any real sickness since the Covid situation began either, and that’s very unusual for me as I usually get struck down by a nasty head cold at least two or three times a year minimum. I guess that everyone is being more aware and careful with their hygiene now which helps with preventing the typical spread of viruses, and my wearing a mask every day now is probably a factor as well. The experts do seem to think that we can expect a bad flu season this year though now that we’re not socially isolating quite as much

I think for me it may be washing hands and sanitizing alot more and mostly, the mask on my face. Now I think the asian populations across the ocean are onto something cause they wear facemasks even when its not a pandemic.

I was gonna say, Brooklyn 9-9 is def not new Leanne

Yeah I was relieved, I didn't want it to effect my trip, but still good to go, leaving tomorrow to see the family! I'll pop on FF sporadically, but if I don't, will fill you in on my return!

I'm sorry you're not well, Theresa, but also that's it's nothing too dangerous.

Me too, Leanne. I haven't had a proper cold in ages. With the hand sanitizer and masks there hasn't been as much around I guess.

I've been doing more walking in the past couple of days, and even did a small run. Going to see if my back can be okay with more cardio exercise. I do a lot of weights, and strength exercises, so I'm hoping I can get back into cardio too, as it's important for fitness. My back was a bit stiff this afternoon though, so using heat on it and did some stretches. I'll have to see how I feel tomorrow, I don't want to put my recovery back by doing too much too soon.
