what does American Heathcliff mean, who gave him that nickname?

It refers to Wuthering Heights. Bree Sharp used it in her song about him "David Duchovny, why won't you love me". It was either that or the line "the man, the myth, the monotone"

Monotone is right!! That's part of why I keep saying Mulder is a TV character most like me cause he speaks like that!!

Plus his dry humour!

I'm in a staff meeting so I can't play that right now.... that would be hilarious if they are in a professional meeting and suddenly "David Duchovny why don't you love me" sudddenly plays out loud!!

Also, it’s funny they got random people to sing to it

I guess my sister experienced that at the airport when she saw him (she’s a border guard) and lost her professionalism and said “you were my first crush!” In her uniform.

And David said “ok” and walked away

he won’t love anyone, I tell you!
