My favorite line of the ep.
Gretchen: I promised I wouldn't do this in front of friends. Jaye: We're not your f-... [whatever came here] |

Oh. My. God.
Another "classic" WF episode chock full of great lines "I'm fate's Bitch." "Did you know our cable comes with Lesbian Porn?" Tell me that isn't signature material What I liked most about the episode is that we learned more about EVERYONE as well as Jaye. We learned about Sharon's fears and anxieties of being in the closet (which may not have been original, but it still funny when she found out the other woman was Bi instead of completely homosexual). We learned about Muhandra a little more and why exactly her and Jaye are still best friends (very similar out-look on life and are always there for each other). We learned how much of a control freak her father is. The funniest was William Saddler in his underwear all doped up on the drugs Sharon gave him We learned that as "cold" as her mother pretends to be... She really does love Jaye for who she is and really doesn't expect anything of her -- Which may be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective What is interesting about both of the parents is that they are not the stereotypical obstacle that would normally be in Jaye's "way". They are real people who do love their kids... No matter what they do (or don't do in Jaye's case . I think this aspect is refreshing for TV and is more realistic with a lot parents of Gen X/Yers because their parents KNOW it is NOT the same world that they grew up in and that their (the parent's) values ARE different from what their kids are and part of that is because the world is such a different place now (like kids getting out of college and not being able to get a job; It's just multiplied 10 fold these days and is something that most of the parents probably didn't have that hard a time with as an example). We also learned that Eric has genuine feelings for Jaye now and so it's not so one-sided as in the last episodes. P.S. - Didn't an early preview for the show have Jaye's heart pounding on her sleeve ala "Ally McBeal?" I recall something like that, but haven't seen it since (maybe we will as the show progresses). Most importantly, and I think the main issue of this episode is that Jaye learned to balance both her gut instinct with what the muses tell her to do which I'm sure will serve her well (I also thought it was funny that we learned just how much of a klutz Jaye really is and probably WHY she doesn't try and help people if she doesn't have to). Remember, we are only two epsiodes away from the season's main arc -- Which I am hoping means a more ongoing story than the stand alone episodes that have been a great introduction, but have no real narrative through liine (yet). In closing, another great episode and definitely hope more people watch because it's like this show keeps getting better whereas most shows you can pretty much predict the pace early on. I can't do that with WF which is probably why it IS so fun and fresh to watch. |

Who's up?
I just finished watching the sode! OMG!!! I LMAO so hard, my side hurts! I love how the dad was like at the end, "Did you know you get free lesbian porn on cable?" What is up with the mom? How was she winning awards and all those people like loving to see her again? That has to be creepy on so many levels! OMG!!! I love how Jaye handled Eric's wife..."Eric can't come to the phone right now, he's satisfying me sexually" Ok...how off was I on that quote? OMG!! I never thought Sharon would have the balls to knock out her on father with drugs but that was great. The creepy music as she went up the stairs to give him his milk and cookies! Sinister! What did you guys think of the show? |

Hee! The pink flamingos so formed a gang. It's a little, pink mafia for fate's bitch. And next week? There's going to be a talking cow. A talking cow. Hee!
Anywho, the episode was, needless to say, great. I was adoring Gretchen Speck. I'm not sure how the actress acts in real life, but the character was just so over the top blonde ("You changed your name? ME TOO!") that it was just hilarious. It does seem like each episode is going to have a new guest star too, meaning there's always hopes for ...people like Scarlett Johansson. And Scarlett Johansson. Fun! I was truly focusing on the show though. When it comes to a few others on TV now (The O.C., for example), I do find myself noticing the music more at times than anything else. But Wonderfalls? Never. It was all dialogue. And stuff. I've mentioned this with a few others already, but there is one thing I'm finding a bit out there (because talking to inanimate objects is such an everday thing): What's up with the whole love at first sight thing? That doesn't happen. It just doesn't, even if you are fate's bitch. __________________

I loved the ep tonight. I've gotta say I really enjoy seeing more of Jaye's family. That entire family is just so quirky and hilarious, but each in their own way. I especially loved the last scene between Jaye and her father. He seems like a genuinely great dad and the chemistry was there between the actors. I could really see them as family. Gretchen was too funny. "Robert's much more Jewish than I am. Probably because he was born that way." Only thing was, her voice started to grate. It would go up 3 octaves every 3 words. Loved the way she walked out of The Barrel, her hips were swinging so hard I thought she was gonna fall or something. Great chemistry between Jaye and Eric tonight. While you could see it before, it really stood out tonight. __________________

And as for the whole butt thing? I did not notice, but ... now that you mention it? My whole life has been changed. I think I will now forever consider myself as an Ass-Speck cult member. __________________

I don't have time to go in depth, but this was a great episode. I loved seeing so much of the Tylers, Eric, and Mahandra. Favorite line: "Why's your dad in the hospital?" "He got run over." "It's okay, I know you didn't mean to." |

That's another thing. The effects on this show are just superb. It's all Hollywood quality, at the very least. I know on the top of my head, Bruce Almighty's effects didn't even compare to the show's. __________________
