I do think Jess was changing a bit, I was just watching the clip of Jess talking to his dad a few weeks ago. He did seem like he wanted to get his life together and he was a bit mad at himself that he had let things fall apart.

I think Jess took after Luke more than Jimmy or his mom.

I think for all his troublemaking and all the fighting and all the friction. I think Jess really loved his uncle and looked up to him.

I agree and I think we saw that at the end of series, and in the revival, Luke mentioned something along the lines that see saw Jess as his kid, and I think we saw how much Jess respected Luke and wanted to be there for him.

Jess was Luke's kid, just a nephew New York version of Luke.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Jess was a New York version of Luke b/c they had very different upbringings

I really loved seeing how Jess went from not caring much for his uncle to appreciating everything that he did for him at the end of S4 to being worried about/concerned for the wellbeing of his uncle in revival
