Watching the commentary at nbc.com and the writer (Regis Philbin's daughter) said that the disappearing tattoo was due to the healing power. She also said something interesting about the American guy in the Mexican jail.

Hmm i agree with some that this ep kinda was off from the other two, but there's always those eps where they set up everything else that's going like a filler ep almost.

But yeah i wanted Peter to open the box, and the fact that he was scared that he was a bad person or thought maybe he was using his powers for evil, was such a Peter thing to think....he wanted to use his powers to save the world and like that even though he forgot that did, he still wants to use his powers for good.

As for the whole "Lighting, Lighting, Sparks" scene it reminded me of when he jumping off the jungle gym trying to fly.

Hmm i'm starting to believe one theory that's out there about the killer after seeing that last painting.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here because I thought last nights episode was a lot better than last weeks. I thought last weeks lacked rhythm and didn't pull together as well Though I still enjoyed it. Kindred had a lot of nice moments IMO.

Peter confronting the Irish man after reading his thoughts. I liked how Milo played this. You really see how much more confident Peter is.

RIP DL. "Husband - Father - Hero" Nice touch.

Personally, I like the new Candace better than the last one. I think she is a better actress IMO. Nice to see Sylar back.

I was hoping to see something in Claire's room that she maybe had as a reminder of Peter. There was (what looked like) the word 'Dream' above her bookshelf, and Peter was described as a dreamer. Meh, probably nothing.

I had to laugh, Peter practicing his powers... shirtless All the men here, like Ricky, either wear long sleeve shirts or shirts and jackets, and Peter is shirtless. A little too obvious why they're doing this. I too thought this scene was like Spider-Man, with the "go web go" type phrases Toby had to say. It was a nice scene between Peter and Caitlin though, and I'm really enjoying their chemistry.

The guy that plays West was in the movie Election. I knew I had seen him before.

Takezo Kensei has never cut or bruised himself before? He is only just now realizing he can heal a wound ASAP? Or did he have to die for the power to start? I'm confused by this.

Hayden is so talented for her age. I really liked her performance with West when she was telling him how tired she is of pretending to be the brainless barbie doll, just before he flew her away.

I liked the bullet part, but I agree about the bluescreen effects. The bluescreen parts seemed off to me. Just nitpicking, but you could really 'feel' that it was bluescreen during all the shots with it tonight IMO. Actually, I think it was the lighting on the actors that was off and it didn't match the background, so you could tell it was different. I thought they did a much better job with Milo's flying scenes in season one.

The place Peter and the gang were robbing was called Pinky's, as in Claire's pinky toe

Peter moving that truck was a great shot. I love his reaction when he did it too.

Yaeko talking to Hiro about Kensei being like two different men, a brute and yet also gentle, something Peter is going to be going through later in the episode. And how under the cherry blossoms she felt like she was home with him. I think this is also how Peter may be starting to feel around Caitlin.

Lt. Uhura! Do you think she has a power and is a part of the group of heroes that are being killed?

The bullet exiting Peter's chest was just nasty! It was far more disgusting than the pinkie toe cut off And Peter's shirt ends up open again I feel a new drinking game coming on.

That's disappointing. Peter looked completely evil when strangling the man, not like someone who was angry, IMO. He almost looked like he was enjoying it. That's why I thought it was a better idea that he had absorbed Nikki's power from the finale, and was struggling with the two sides.

I liked that too. It's the emotion that Peter reacts to.

Okay, so Candace never actually changes her appearance, nor has any of the surroundings actually changed. What she controls is what the person's mind can see. So, she is actually controlling part of the person's brain. And because she can control the brain that way, maybe this is what made her feel safe around Sylar. Otherwise, she ain't the brightest pea in the pod to not think she could be killed. Her death wasn't a surprise, but it was nice to see Sylar still can't gain control of powers.

I agree.

I wondered that too. Maybe they couldn't fit it into the budget. But there wasn't even a lot of blood by her head

I have mixed feelings about this scene. On one hand, I loved Milo's performance in it (the softness and subtlety in his voice and expressions), and I really like the chemistry between him and Caitlin. I also like that he is feeling loved and feeling happiness through someone after all that has recently happened to him. Yet, the last episode ended with the box, the promo had us wondering what was in it, it's the main focus was for him to know what is in it, earlier we saw Peter and Caitlin discuss how much they wanted to know what was in it, and then it ends with... nah, let's not. I just felt cheated by that. And if Peter was that concerned about what was in it he could just ask Ricky if he'll like what he reads or sees (since he has already seen it). Plus, if it was that bad, Ricky wouldn't now be trusting him. Or maybe he said that because he is afraid it will mean he may have to leave Caitlin. But does she mean more to him than knowing if he has a family out there waiting for him? I just don't think it made much sense. I read a review that reminded me that Peter was the one that wasn't afraid to take a leap off a building in season one, to take that chance... and now he is too afraid to open a box.

As with Peter and Caitlin, I like seeing Claire enjoying life more with West. Seeing her have someone to confide in and be happier with. Both Peter and Claire are kind of going through the same things, which is nice.

I liked that West told Claire that he was a test subject by HRG. That just got a whole lot more interesting.

The painting... what a great twist! I agree that HRG won't be killed (he better not be). We went through Claire's painting of her dying and learned that the future can be changed with her being saved. Claire is also in the painting... looks like she is either being held back or she is kissing someone (West maybe?). But why would she be kissing someone as her father dies? And what is HRG holding in the painting? I loved how all this played out, with Claire suddenly standing there watching him at the computer. I thought it was a great, classic Heroes ending like last season's.

I have to say, the thing that bothers me is how much time they're spending on new characters when we have yet to see more of the regular ones. I think that's a huge mistake. I am enjoying the wonder twins story, but I'd much rather see more of Nathan and Angela Petrelli. Really, the twins could have just showed up in America
Spoiler:
and mentioned their struggle in getting there, without us having to have seen all these scenes leading to it. And the promo shows yet someone new again. It's taking away from the characters we have already invested in and want to know more about. This was the problem with the first part of season 2 of LOST IMO and maybe that's what's slowing things down for some fans.

But, overall I liked this one better than last week.

I like that idea. Before this season premiered I figured they would have her say and do nothing about the finale, but then they had her call Nathan. Now I want a little bit more. Not that she has to go around being depressed all the time, but another little nod that her Uncle (and bio-Dad) mean (meant?) something to her would be nice.

I like Caitlin and I like her with Peter. (Be sure to check out the latest Graphic Novel, it features a story about them.)

I believe his situation is similar to some of our first season heroes ... their power didn't manifest until the eclipse.

I don't mind the twins storyline too much, but it could have been reduced a bit to make more time for the others (preferably Nathan and Mama Petrelli). One episode with them running and accidentally killing somebody would have been enough to set it up and then have this episode where they finally get a ride (Claire's stolen Rogue).

And the way Ando's storyline played out, it seemed like they could have cut back on Hiro's story or just use this method to tell it. I liked the idea of Hiro writing to Ando to tell him what was going on, but it bothered me a bit to have to re-watch the montages of what we have just seen. It wouldn't have bothered me at all if they had not had Hiro in the last episode, but he hasn't missed one, so it was really redundant.

I believe he did absorb her power in the season finale as he has demonstrated super strength twice (not including the 5 years in future eps). Once was in the finale when he started to beat the crap out of Sylar and the other was in last weeks episode when he barely punched the guy and sent him into a wall. I'm inclined to believe that Jessica was due to mental illness and not a necessary part of having that particular power but thats just my opinion.

Heroes Episode 2-03 'Kindred' Recap (Milo scenes)

Ricky and Peter are sitting in the pub, talking about the box. Caitlin and the other gang members are also in the room.

Peter- "Just tell me what I need to do to get my life back."
Ricky- "You mean this? The box with your identity in it? Sure. It's all yours. As long as you do us one favor, yeah? See, Celtic is taking on AC Milan."
Tuko- "We're talkin' football, yeah? Soccer."
Peter- "I lost my memory. I'm not an idiot."
Ricky- "The local sports book will be full of cash. After the match, all that money gets put in a lockbox and taken to an armored car."
Peter- "So you're gonna rob an armored car."
Ricky- "All we're askin' is that you get rid of the guards before they call for help. Simple, really."
Peter- "So if I get you your box, you'll give me mine."
Ricky- "Everyone wins."
Will- (thinking to himself) "Not everybody, sideshow."

Peter hears Will's thoughts and turns to look at him.
Will- (thinking to himself) "That cash is mine. Even if I have to kill you for it."
Peter- "What did you say?"
Will- (confused) "I... I didn't say a word."
Peter- "You said you were gonna take the cash."
Will- "Are you accusing me of something?"
Peter- "I heard what you said. He said it."
Will goes to attack Peter, but Ricky jumps in and puts his arm across Peter's throat to hold him back. He shows Peter his other arm, revealing a tattoo.

Ricky- "You see that? That's the family crest. These lads are me brothers. And I trust em' a hell of a lot more than I trust you."
Peter- "Why would I lie?"
Ricky lets Peter go.

Ricky- "I know Will. I don't know you. You don't even know yourself.
_______________

In the back room of the Pub, Peter is alone and is trying to learn how to use his electricity power. He has his hand out and is concentrating.
Peter- "Lightning. Lightning! Sparks! Lightning!"

by renestarko

Caitlin is now in the doorway, and walks in.

Caitlin- "So you just yell it out. Well, I'm just trying to understand how it works."
Peter- "That makes two of us. So far, I've got nothin'."
Caitlin- "Well, it's a shame you can't order lightning up like a plate of chips. Sure would come in handy tonight."
Peter- "God, you know, I can do all these things. Its just-- I just feel powerless."
Caitlin- "It's tough not knowing who you are."
Peter- "Yeah, looks like I might just die before I ever figure it out."
Caitlin- "Maybe you're an extraterrestrial, escaped from a government facility. I have to admit, I'm pretty excited to see you open that box. And don't worry about tonight. I'll be there to watch your back."
Peter- "How do I know I can trust you?"
Caitlin- "I haven't told anyone about what you can do, now have I?"
Peter- "Why is that?"
Caitlin- "Girl's gotta have her secrets."
_______________

At Pinkie's Sportsbook, Peter and Caitlin are in a van, as the other members are outside hiding. Caitlin tells Peter to be careful, and he leaves to confront the two guards arriving at Pinkie's door.

Guard- (buzzing in at the door) "Safeline. Here for the pickup."
Peter- "Hey! Hey. I want my money back."
Guard- "All right. Back away, friend."
Peter- "I'm not your friend, okay? Just give me my $200 dollars back. Look, Celtic was supposed to be a lock to win, okay? Just help a guy out."
Guard- "That's not our problem."
Ricky and the other men now come out holding guns on them.
Will- "Actually, it is your problem."
Ricky- "Tie them up, Tuko."

They tie up and gag the guards. Peter rushes the guards out of the way as Ricky and the men go to the side of Pinkie's door. A guard walks out pushing the case of money, and they stop him. Two members of the gang take the case away, but the guard hits a button signalling the alarm. Ricky punches the guard with his gun, and they run off. Two more guards come out and start firing at the gang. Peter holds his hand up and motions to the security van.

by rachel/adam

The van slides across and in front of the guards, blocking their aim. Peter runs back to the van with Caitlin and gets in. She is still looking at him in shock, so he yells at her to "Go!"
_______________

In the Pub, they are all celebrating having the stolen money. Will pulls a gun on Ricky, but Ricky thinks its a joke. Will confirms he means it and demands the money. Peter is now at the doorway.

Peter- "So I was right."
Will- "Yeah. That you were. Congratulations Peter."
Will shoots Peter twice in the chest and he collapses to the floor. Will demands the money again.

Suddenly, Will is thrown into the wall and held there, by force. They all turn around to see Peter getting up, his hand stretched out towards Will. They all watch in shock as a bullet exits Peter's chest on its own, as his wound heals itself.
Will- "What the Jeez--"
Peter, using telekinesis, puts a stranglehold on Will. Will begins choking as Peter strangles him. Peter has an evil and determined expression on his face as he forces this on Will. Caitlin turns and screams at Peter. This forces Peter to snap out of it and he looks at her. She shakes her head, signalling him to please stop. Peter then puts his hand down and Will falls off the wall and onto the floor. Still coughing, Will gets up and runs out of the Pub.
_______________

In the back room of the Pub, Caitlin and Peter are sitting at a table. She is putting a tattoo on his forearm, the same 'family crest' that Ricky had showed him earlier. Peter is wincing from the pain.

Caitlin- "Would you quit being such a baby, pretty boy?"
Ricky walks in holding the box and sits down with them.

Ricky- "Peter. I may not know what you are, but I know who you are. You're one of us."
Caitlin smiles and nods in approval.
Ricky- "And we have no secrets among family."
He puts the box on the table, then leaves.

Peter just stares at it.

Caitlin- "Well?"
Peter- (sighs) "Well what?"
Caitlin- "This is it. Your box. Your life. You gonna open it or what?"
Peter- "What if it's a life I don't want? When I had Will against the wall, I could've killed him. I wanted to. What if that's who I am?"
Caitlin- "But you didn't kill him, did you?"
Peter- "No, that's because of you."
Caitlin- "It's not because of me, Peter. You're a good soul. I can tell."
Peter- "What if I open this box and I find otherwise?"
Caitlin- (holding his hand) "Do you like the way you are right now?"
Peter nods.
Caitlin- "Well, then maybe for now just let it be."

Caitlin goes in closer and they kiss.

by rachel/adam

As they continue kissing, unbeknownst to them, Peter's new tattoo changes to the helix symbol, then disappears altogether.

...to be continued.

i totally agree. so he changed that much since he is afraid to move on, and open the box that will but an end to his sweet and slow irish transition. maybe he is gonna open the box when he will be urged to do so as Heroes will contact him or when the global situation is gonna overwhelm him..
for now he is getting some goooood irish flesh.... he is focusing on the present. i guess that the fact he is amnesiac makes him want to take things slow and progressively

but i am really looking forward to him rejoigning the others (((i hope not as an ennemy that don't recognize them, or as if he had been brainwashed by someone else that his former friends and family are evils.that would hurt us and them if someone was abusing his amnesia and make him a bad guy...
