All I remember is Nathan ripping off his shirt, Lucas doing the robot dance, Jake goofing around in the mascot costume and Peyton saying "It smells like sex in here" - That's seriously all I remember

Lucas had so much inside that no one ever got to really see. Who knew he wanted to be a writer in Season 1, he just liked to read. He had so many aspirations and he was the guy that didn't need to keep saying them out loud to know they were going to happen

While Nathan was very sweet, likable and played the perfect husband for the most, he did not have many layers to his character as Lucas did. Like, Lucas was very flawed at times and he was not as perfect as Nathan but he was NEVER one dimensional. That's what really stands out for me.

Like you said, he went through so many unexpected things. We all thought he was going to end up as a star basketball player who just happened to be a bookworm. But he ended up as a passionate novelist who had to give up his first dream because of a heart condition. I like that, it's kind of tragically beautiful and it's like saying that life doesn't always shape up exactly the way you want but that doesn't mean you should stop dreaming. That's one of the most important things Lucas taught me on the show. So yes, I do love Lucas because he is imperfectly perfect
