Someone is sending him messages via people (including George Michael!) on how to change his life or help other people.
I've just seen the 2nd ep and that's the impression that I'm getting. |

I've been watching Veronica Mars a lot lately, and just seeing Veronica makes me compare her to Joan and it's just amazing how normal Joan was. I mean, Veronica has had all this crap happen to her so she can become this fiesty character in order to make the show. But Joan is just pretty normal, bar the Kevin accident thing, but even still that's only not normal in the fact that it's the unluckily relatively few families that have to deal with that type of thing. And so it's the fact that she's talking to God that makes the show have a deal (not just a normal teen soapy type drama), but Joan has an actual person is just regular. And I like that.
I'm not sure how much sense I'm making 'cos I probably need sleep. Might clarify later. __________________

I think I know where you're coming from Anna.
I like Veronica Mars too, but a lot of it was unrealistic with her doing the PI work etc staying up all night. A lot of what she was doing was breaking the law or close to. |

yeah, and Veronica can get mightily annoying at time, she's flawed I suppose, but sometimes it borders on irratating, I didn't have that problem with Joan, save for maybe Wealth of Nations. I wasn't a fan at all of "Joanith", I pretty much hated them, actually.

I didn't mind Judith as she showed a different side to Joan, while not likeable it was interesting to watch.

I almost turned off during Wealth of Nations "Joanith" annoyed me sooo much. Well, okay I would never turn off JoA. But, I really think that they went too far trying to push the Judith/Joan friendship on us. If they could have done it without making Joan annoying when she was around Judith, that would have been really quite preferable.

It was an interesting move to push Joan that far. I think I kept watching as I wanted to know what was going to happen

You can only push people so far. I know that they've stopped watching some shows (Grey's Anatomy is one of them) as the characters were getting too annoying and I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore.

I've also given up on Lost ... too confusing Heroes I kind of half watch while reading a book
JoA I didn't want to give up on as I just wanted to wait for it to improve. I stuck through Roswell for 3 season |

I still think Roswell had some good episodes ....... but I think as it had such a strong first season it was hard to beat that. Plus I think they had a few writers leave etc.
I also loved Everwood that was also a strong show. |

yes, I prefer the first season too, once you got hooked on the characters though, like with JoA, even a couple not so good episodes don't put you off.
Yeah, Everwood was a great show, another tragic cancellation, it deserved more, but four seasons is pretty good. __________________
