the worshach (spelling?) images that were shown to Betty linked Hal from a black hood victim, to the black hood and then to the gargoyle King.

Jughead's Mom wanted to kill Alice. I'm also thinking she now wants to kill Betty, wants Betty out of Jughead's life, and could be grooming Jughead to be the new GK.

Gina Gershon has been cast to play his mother but nothing of her really has been talked about since Jug and Archie planned to go to her while on their road travels. So wouldn't it make more sense to be someone that has been hinted at like Hal with the worshach and link to Black Hood? I like the theory and I think both are possible, so it's hard to say which way it will lead. Plus we know Jug has a sister as casting news has reported so to not have seen either of those characters as of yet, and then to just plug them into the roles of GK seems more far fetched because it has to be someone that was around G&G when FP and Alice were in high school and I don't remember any reference to Jugs mom at all.

Well, here are some more reasons why I think it's her. The GK basically used Dilton, Ben, and Ethel to rill in Jughead. So far he's the only male who drunk the chalice, got blue lips, and didn't die. So it's possible unlike the other males the GK wants him alive. In 3x05 he called the GK him or her and told Betty the game is the GK's imagination&psychology how they view Riverdale. So they didn't rule out the GK being a female, and the game being the GK's imagination&psychology how they view Riverdale reminds me of Jughead's novel being his imagination&psychology how he views Riverdale. When the GK was after Alice&Betty. It left Daryl's tombstone, a skull, and an outfit on Betty's bed. The tombstone had Betty&Alice's name on it, and the outfit was the one Betty wore for Jughead's surprise BD party. To keep her safe from the GK, Alice sent Betty to the SOQM, and her roommate was Ethel who told Betty the reason why she had Jughead to kiss her was that the GK wanted her&Jughead together, and she told Betty again she'll never be worthy. Plus what the GK has done in the previous episodes has led to Jughead going to see his Mom.
