Hmm yeah the writers seem to be suggesting Betty Cheating Doesent Change things for Bughead in the long term. While I’m disappointed they resorted to this. Making Betty look really bad. So to use it as a shortcut to get out of this storyline. It’s lazy. But you could be right. I think the core 4, we’ll have a falling out. Then a time jump, of possibly 5 years. And we’ll see Bughead reunited

Yeah fans aren't happy that they're having Betty cheat on Jughead for lazy drama. Also what causes the argument between Bughead that leads to her cheating is lazy as well.

Seems she wants Jughead to focus more on his homework than the tapes but Jughead wants to focus more on the tapes than his homework.

Actually the Jughead helping Charles/F.B.I. with the tapes plot makes me wonder if it's possibly foreshadowing Jughead joining the F.B.I. in the time jump? Speaking of the time jump.

To make it harder for Bughead to get back together I wouldn't be surprised if they had Bughead paired up with different people in the time jump as well.

Yeah a bit like with Joey and Pacey in DC. They dated other ppl. But eventually ended up together. Wouldn’t be surprised to see same thing happen with Bughead. To be quite honest I can accept Bughead not being a couple till the very end. But throwing Betty under a bus? It’s just so lazy and cheap.

Indeed it's so lazy and cheap. Yet one of the writers said in a drama people need to make mistakes, be challenged, and grow. Yeah, cause having Betty cheat on Jughead with Archie is that.

Also to make it worse seems Jughead may be suffering from PTSD, and after she cheats on him, he apologizes to her, and if she doesn't tell him about the kiss then they're really having Betty look like one of the worse Girlfriends ever.

Yeah I don’t see cheating on Jughead with Archie as a challenge. Betty has been through more lessons then any character in this show. I see it as throwing 4 years of character development under the bus. For simple fanservice. So yeah it’s cheap and lazy. And the fact Jughead has PTSD. And Betty did what she did knowing that. Even if I could understand the couples had a big fight. Betty and Archie find common ground, and it was spur of the moment. But they fight over Jughead not focusing on his homework. So yeah it’s lazy.

We know 4x20 Bughead are still in status quo. So clearly Jughead still in the dark. As is Veronica. Who know one seems to be talking about. So if we combine the cheating, with the deceit, and Jughead PTSD. Yes boy one of the most aggressive take downs of a main protagonist I think I’ve ever seen. Though best to reserve judgment.

Me too, and while I could see the homework being for Jughead to graduate, Betty worrying he won't graduate if he doesn't do it, it still doesn't excuse the cheating. Like I think writing is the last thing they should tell Jughead to do cause what happened at the prep school lead to his PTSD.

Also not only is she cheating on him, but she's cheating on him with the guy who's his BFF, the guy he feared Betty would leave him for, and the longer she doesn't tell him about the kiss the more it'll cause more damage to their relationship.

The same goes for Jughead&Archie's friendship and Betty&Veronica's (Who's dealing with her Dad dying) friendship. Speaking of friends here's something else to add to throwing Betty under the bus.

She was the one who said real friends don't kiss each other's boyfriends, and in that same episode, she revealed Jughead told her about the Ethel kiss. Also just 2 episodes ago before the new episode, she told Jughead he was the only man for her, and that was written by the showrunner himself.

It feels like a comic book interpretation of events. We may get a Bughead break up end of season. With a possible time jump. I’m disappointed by this treatment of Betty. But I still believe Bughead we’ll end up together.

Yeah, Betty's excuse could be maybe Dark Betty coming out, but what's Archie's excuse?

Of course, she'll choose Jughead. We know she loves him. The problem is Jughead possibly finding out about the kiss in any other way than Betty telling him.

Yeah, after hearing about what happened I'm glad I didn't watch it. Now I think the next episode after going down memory lane Archie&Betty will realize they're better off as friends and want endgames with Veronica&Jughead, but to explode the Core Four Jughead&Veronica won't know about the kiss until maybe the season finale.

Like I think that's what the main goal is here, and in a way it goes back to the first flashforward with Betty saying after graduation, they all go their separate ways, and never speak to each other ever again.
