"Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Preppy Murders" Airdate: January 27, 2021 GAME CHANGER — Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) investigation into the auteur takes a twisted turn after receiving a call from Bret (guest star Sean Depner). Meanwhile, Archie (KJ Apa) is forced to make an impossible decision when the person responsible for his father’s death needs his help. Elsewhere, Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Hermosa (guest star Mishel Prada) come up with a plan to force Hiram (Mark Consuelos) into early retirement, and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) makes a business move. Has everyone seen the episode? It was kind of blah. Like really Jelly Bean. I don't know that whole mystery was weird anyway.
I felt like they needed to deal with Archie's grief sooner. But, I suppose better late than never. |
FINALLY watched the episode. I know others have watched even though no one posts anymore :lol: but I will just talk to myself haha. Overall I thought it was one of the better episodes.
This storyline just doesnt work for this season. I get its hard on Riverdale to just wrap it up but I feel like they could have re-wrote and scrapped some original things they had planned. But too late now. I'm just ready for the season to really start. I dont really get why Veronica is pretending to still be with Archie? They dont have to admit te reason is Betty, but they can just tell people they havent been seeing eye to eye lately and want a bit of break from each other. I also feel like Betty doesn't deserve Veronica's kindness. at all. Like, i would be so pissed at my friend and Archie too. I love when Hiram went after Archie :lol:. Its what he deserves. Though the father comment wasn't needed. I did enjoy watching Bughead work together as usually but its just tainted by Betty's lies. My favorite part of the episode was Archie dealing with his dads murderer, that was a good plot and I wish Riverdale had more meaningful moments like that. They said 5 seasons and my mind totally went to 4 seasons total landscaping lmao. Good for Hermione ending things with Hiram finally. |

Like this episode felt like the fall of the Jones/Smith/Cooper family. First Charles is made a serial killer, then JB is made the auteur, and what's left is Falice and Bughead which both will probably be broken up soon. :( Especially Bughead if/when Jughead finds out Betty cheated on him with Archie, they didn't tell him, and that will be the cherry on top of his misery. :( Alexa did you like the episode? :) |
