I haven't been this excited and interested in a ship in a long time. I wasn't even going to watch the show cause while I liked the comic, watching that triangle would have been nauseating. Sooooo glad they went with Bughead

Well it seems that other quote I posted earlier, came from a interview with Cole talking to Comicbook.Com. Plus I really liked this part of the interview.

"There are two forms of representation Jughead has received over time. In Zdarsky’s Jughead, he’s asexual. That’s the only Jughead where he is asexual. He’s aromantic in the digests, which is a different thing and deserves attention as well. But what I found when I was really diving in — because once we started putting Jughead and Betty together, I started diving into try and find out if that’s a narrative that even exists in the digests, and it turns out, it is. It’s a narrative that’s existed for a long time. There are a handful of digests in which Jughead would say things like ‘Oh, Betty, if I did like women I guarantee you would be the one I would marry outright. I love these two so much! They make my tv week. They're relationship is so innocent and sweet. There is just a comfort there that can only happen between long time friends.

They both have some complicated lives, yet they're not complicated together.

(Did that make sense?)

The kiss was wonderful, but I liked the lunch scene between them just as much, the sitting close together the looks shared, it was perfect!

Love that the cast seems to be behind Bughead

Especially Lili/Cole...I just hope the writers don't get the bright idea that angst keeps viewers watching instead of lovey dovey goodness. It worries me that we got our awesome ship so quickly.

I can't wait for more!

Found this interview with Cole talking about Bughead, and I thought this part of the interview was interesting.

“It’s important to remember that — though Betty and Archie when they were younger were this cute couple — Jughead, Betty and Archie were the three childhood friends. So Betty knows Jughead probably just as well as Archie does in certain ways and she is also this sort of nostalgic force of what was once morally just,” Sprouse explained. “I do believe Jughead is absolutely obsessed with what was once Riverdale, and Betty still represents this morality and purity that he associates to this more ‘Peter Pan’-like childhood version of Riverdale. He finds great comfort in that and becomes easily accessible and resonates with him.”
