A Very Queer Eye Thanksgiving - Episode Discussion
Thanksgiving is a special time to spend around home and hearth with the ones you love...or, at the very least, the ones you're related to. But since Turkey Day is still two days away, the Fab Five can spend today with anyone they want — so they're throwing a party for Jeff, David and the twins, four straight guys we can thank for making this past year so memorable. Jeff T. To this day, Jeff's transformation remains one of our most dramatic. As the first straight guy filmed after the show premiered on Bravo, he and his family had a basic idea what they were in for when the Fab Five burst through their door. What they didn't expect, though, as was that underneath his beard and shoulder-length hair was a handsome hunk with male-model looks. Since then, has he kept his hair short and his face shaved...or will a surprise check-in reveal a return to old ways? The Twins What's worse than one style disaster? A pair of them, which is what these fight-loving, hygiene-hating brothers were before we showed up. Surprisingly, they took our advice to heart and in the end pulled off a near-perfect party for their 80 year-old grandfather. But that was then, when they knew our cameras were watching. Will a return visit reveal a house full of broken furniture after too many wrestling matches? David G. When your wife is a successful handbag designer, runway-phobia is not an option. Our make-better visit gave David the confidence (and the wardrobe) to mix and mingle with New York's fashion elite...as well as a tongue-scraper to rid him of his notoriously bad breath. Months later, is he still riding high and smelling fresh? |

I can't wait to see this episode. I hope it's better than the last holiday special.

I like this episode. It was great. I really liked Jeff's song. It was good.
The Christmas Special looks hilarous. I *so* can't wait for that one. What did you all think of this episode? |

Thanks for the info, Tina. I ended up missing it but I caught it about half of it today. Those twins were violent, but hilarious. I don't know if I like last years better or this one.

You're welcome.
The twins were violent! I was like 'Sheesh, not another fight!' Did you see the previews for the Christmas Special? Wasn't it funny when the kid whacked at Carson's stomach? LMAO. It was also funny seeing them all dressed up in PJ's. I really can't wait to see it. |

I liked the episode too. Normally I don't pay much attention to the cooking, but I did this time. I am from NC, and traditional Southern cooking rules. Kyan brought back memories making ambrosia like my aunt used to. Ted's comments about his Southern family overcooking vegetables is merely our way. A better way actually, with lots of pot liquor to sop your homemade biscuits in.

While I liked Carson and the twins throwing the Nerf football in the loft, my sentimental favorite part was Kyan doing his version of the ambrosia (or "heavenly delight" or whatever he calls it). My aunt always made ambrosia for Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers, along with fresh coconut and caramel cakes. No one has made ambrosia since she passed away years ago. My dad ate more than his share of the ambosia, and he's been gone a long time too. Seeing Kyan make it brought back good memories.

Green Ranger - That's sweet! I'm sorry about your Aunt & your dad. I totally love the twins throwing the football around. It was too funny.

This entire weekend i think i saw this episode like 6 times, lol. I enjoyed all of it, The cooking was cool especially the sweet potatoes, and on the Bravo QE site there were extra footage from the episode and it showed Jai making an alcoholic version of Apple Cider that looked really good.
Jeff's song was also very good. Nicole |
