... I've read articles saying that this episode will give a lot more insight about Peggy and Whitney's backgrounds so I can't wait!

I know! I don't want to think about it... But maybe we can already hope for a third season if the ratings don't fall and the reviews keep on being so positive.

I know we get 10 episodes this season but it still feels so few.

They are going by so fast! That's what stinks about mid-season shows that get fewer episodes.

But I really hope we get a Season 3 renewal, despite the ratings.

Once again, I probably won't be able to watch the episode live, but I will watch it as soon as I get home from work on Wednesday.

I thought the episode was quite good but far from being my favorite this season. I liked the flashback scenes the most.
And Whitney is truly a fantastic character, beautifully portrayed by Wynn Everett!

The flashbacks were interesting! I was not expecting them, but loved getting some insight into both Peggy & Whitney/Agnes. Her mom was such a terrible person.

Like mother, like daughter, I guess.

I can't remember if they ever said before that Peggy's brother died. That was such a sad moment.

Do you guys think that Michael is really dead or has his death just been faked and he's become an undercover agent? I have a feeling that he might show up again...

There is something that really annoys me this season. I've mentioned it before, but it could be seen again quite clearly in this episode: they've amped up the slapstick elements quite considerably. And Jarvis is the one who's delivering them - without excemption. Most of the time, he looks totally rediculous and camp. It's quite a change from S1 where I thought the balance between comedy and drama/action was much better. I actually found a post on Tumblr that says exactly what I feel about this episode/season. I hope it's ok to post it here:

Of course I laughed, but I think that it’s a waste of an incredible character to only have him used as some slap-stick comedic relief. He’s got so much depth to him and the show writers should exploit that at every opportunity possible. And did you notice when they were waiting for Chadwick to come on over the listening device? Jarvis was merely used to fetch the booze. Really? I don’t think that’s fair at all. Jarvis is so under-appreciated and quite frankly it’s pi**ing me off.

“Better Angels” was by far the best episode in the series so far. There was so much heart to it and the characters were more than one-dimensional. I hope we return to that format and that we bring back Howard. Howard really seems to be the anchor and unifying link to make the series fun yet endearing. He brings about the circumstances in which we can truly see depth in our favorite characters like Peggy and Jarvis as well.
