Welcome to the Brett Claywell/Tim Smith Appreciation Thread

Brett Claywell is the actor who plays Tim Smith, Nathan's best friend. Though Tim is often Nathan's partner (or sometimes muse) in crime he still has heart. In Crash Into You he showed that by defying what Nathan had wanted and giving Lucas the ball, so he could make the shot. After wards he apologized repeatedly to Nathan and tried to get him to see he did it for the good of the team.

Though Tim often acts like as much of a jerk as Nathan, deep down he just wants to do the right thing and try to be loyal to his best friend. Two goals that often conflict.

- He's even cuter when he's all tired after a long day of shooting.

- He's entertaining during downtime on set!
- Because he's not shy about wearing zebra print bikini briefs on TV!
- He's very personable!
- Everyone who's met him, loves him!
- He still can't get over the fact he has fans.

- He gave the ball to Lucas, even though he knew Nathan would be angry.
- He said Baller!
- He was concerned for Nathan when he passed out.
- He only got $8 at the auction, but we would have paid PLENTY more!
- Two words, "Miss Debra?"
- Because he wore zebra print bikini briefs when he thought he was gonna get lucky with Deb.
- He thinks Haley is cool.
- Because BYOT!
- He helped Lucas break up the fight between Peyton and Nikki.
- Because he didn't know who those people were.
- Because he helped out Haley overcome her party nerves when Nathan was stuck at work.

In one episode, Haley dreams about basketball, because she's failing gym. Tim turns up as a cheerleader. We all loved it so much, here's some caps.

Yes. His accent is yummy. Lots of guys at my school have accents like that and I could just follow them around all day.

He is a good actor, and now that you point it out his character is quit a bit like Haley, only he is alittle more of a follower.

I have to admit, I like Tim. There's something about him that makes me want to learn more on who he really is... other than Nathan's friend. [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

Also, maybe I don't pay enough attention during his scenes, but what sort of accent are you guys talking about? [img]smilies/look.gif[/img]

ok, maybe im deaf or something, but where is he from, i never really heard his accent, maybe i was paying attention to whoever else was talking at the time.

He's probably from NC. If not, definitely somewhere in the South, LOL. His accent is pretty strong.

If I remember right, he's actually from right here around Wilmington, I'll double check if I can. Anyway, he does have a strong southern accent. It was first extremely noticable in Crash Into You when he's talking to Nathan after the game. Ragdoll mentions it in her recap of that episode at TWOP.

Went and found it:

"Blah Tim whines, blah Nathan gives him the cold shoulder, blah Tim grovels, blah Nathan acts like an ass. What's up -- why is Tim the only kid with a heavy accent? And why is it that we always have to pretend not to notice that kind of stuff?" - Ragdoll.

I like his accent, but it also bothers me that he's the only one with an accent. Not that I want everyone else to fake an accent because that can be painful.

I think James is starting to pick it up. In last week's ep when Brooke came to his house he sounded a little more southern. I don't think Hilarie will ever pick up one because of going back to New York to do TRL all the time. I don't think Chad will either because 1) he has his own unique voice and 2) He would have when he was here doing Dawson's Creek.

I feel like the only one not bothered that Tim is the only one with an accent. I just don't find it hard to believe that others wouldn't have them.

ok, i know where the shot is filmed, but where is tree hill supposed to be anyways? the airport said new brunswick, i know its not in new brunswick canada, but i thought there was a new brunswick new jersey or something.
