I can't. If I don't know what is popular I don't know what qualifies as an unpopular opinion.

Here are an few of mine.
1. The show (& most of the characters) was it's best in season 1.
2. Naley getting married at the end of S1 was an mistake (still love them though) and tired down both characters way too early in the show.
3. Haley wasn't in the wrong for trying to chase her dreams in S2 and Nathan was an douche for letting his insecurities get in the way of that. I also hated how one sided the writing was in S2 (not that surprising with what we know now about Mark) and wished the drama between NH wasn't centered around an unrealistic tour.
4. I don't really get the hype about Jeyton. While I do think they had some cute moments, their relationship was nowhere as good as some people make it out to be and Peyton's feelings for Luke wasn't the only issue with their relationship.
5. Skills should have become an main cast member before S4.
5. Haley/Peyton/Lucas and Lucas/Nathan/Haley deserved a lot of screentime than they did since both trios could have been awesome.
6. Peyton and Haley's friendship got done dirty after S1 and the writers wasted the potential of an female friendship that could have been one of the best on the show. While I do like Brooke/Haley's friendship, there was no need whatsoever to throw Paley's friendship under the bus to make it work.
7. Dan killing Keith was dumb imo and ruined Dan/Lucas' relationship for good, & also made it next to possible to redeem Dan's character for it. While I sadly agree with the fact Keith had to die to add an interesting long term storyline to the show. it was an mistake for it to be at the hands of Dan and it should have instead been an accident or Jimmy.
8. Leyton should have been together long before 4.09 and Mark wasted a lot of time with them dragging out pointless love triangles. They also should have gotten married in S5 instead of LL too.
9. Karen and Whitey should have stayed on the show post season 4 instead of Dan and Deb,
10. Lucas and Haley were clearly Mark's least favourite characters out of the core and because of that they both deserved much better storylines than they got. Peyton also deserved to have her relationships with her adoptive dad & Ellie better developed than they were and Nathan deserved to have Dan's behaviour acknowledged as abuse. Brooke also deserved to have less storylines showing her an bitch and more acknowledging her faults as an person/character.
11. Rachel had the potential to be an amazing character and they ruined it imo by turning her into an selfish heartless druggie.
12. The show would have done an much better job with POI and LGBTQ characters.
13. Friendships in general should have more constant in the show like they were in S1. I also felt that the writers should have done more with the Scott Family since there was a lot of potential there imo.
14. Julian should have been introduced in S5 instead of Owen and without any previous ties to Peyton, which added nothing to the show imo.

Rarely anyone thinks that Naley getting married so early or the show was at it's best in season 1 for example. Same with the Jeyton one too

I did. It might have been unpopular when the show was airing though, because the audience were younger.
