yeah i really hate what they've done to Lucas. i understand how Nathan can go from being a jackass to a good guy, because he had potential to be good.

But Lucas going from being kind, nice, loving, etc to this is just weird. no one loses all their morals that quickly. they practically beat us over the head in the first few wps with how great a guy lucas is. and now they're really making everyone hate him. it's stupid. i wonder if the writers realise that in the name of drama they're making their lead guy an idiot.

Haha. Gosh, I know. It's crazy how they could just...ruin a great character like that, that fast. He started out as such a nice, simple, genuine person. GASP.

I'm sure the writers have something planned, though. He'll turn around soon.

yeah i do hope they do something to make people like him again. because i liked him alot at the start, and now i dont even recognise him as the same guy.

but i reckon they'd have to do something pretty big to make people like him again. and putting him in a coma isn't going to erase all his bad judgement.

I'll think of him the same way that I used to when he apologizes to Haley and Brooke, gets his tattoo removed, stops fooling around with Peyton, and starts being, well, himself.

And I predict only 2 of these things will happen.

Well I've never liked Lucas. He bored me to tears with his whole misunderstood/underpriveliged/victim thing in the beginning, and now he just pisses me off. I probably am harder on him simply because I'm just waiting for his next jackass move, but he's making it way too easy for me (and many others) to hate him.

But it wasn't like Haley did it to spite Lucas or something. She saw something good in Nathan, hell maybe she even thought that bringing the good out in Nathan he and Lucas would find a way to get along. She did start to tutor Natan in order to get him off of Lucas' back and then she realized that Nathan wasn't as bad as everyone thought he was. So she started to have feelings for him and immediately went to Lucas to let him know. She even tried to tell him that Nathan isn't all bad. So it's not like she knew Nathan was just a jerk and nothing more but she still wanted to date him. It was because she knew he wasn't as bad as he appears. I don't know if I'm explaining myself clearly.

Oh, I know. It's not like Rory dating Jess while she knew that he was continuing to be a jackass to her friends and family. Nathan was changing and Haley knew that and she knew that he wouldn't hurt Luke anymore.

christinedechagny - I completely agree with your thoughts about the whole L/H 'fight'. And [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img] @ your analogy of Rory and Jess compared to Haley dating Nathan.. heh, you're right.

I'd love to comment more on the episode as a whole, seeing how I just got to watch it today, but I must be off.

Well we only just started GG over here in the UK, so i don't know about the whole Jess/Rory thing. And i do agree with you about NH. Haley was not trying to spite Lucas at all and i agree she saw the good in him. I do like NH. It's just a screwy situation because of the fact that Nathan was such a jerk to Lucas at the start. No one can deny that Nathan pretty much made Lucas's life hell in the first four eps. But Haley could see he wasn't a real jackass. If you were in Haley's position it would be hard. But putting yourself in Lucas's position i can relate to how he would feel. Maybe because i've had something a little similar happen to me. Not exactly the same, but i can relate.

As far as Lucas knows Nathan isn't that great. Lucas hasn't really witnessed anything good that Nathan's done. Especially up to LIAGH when Haley wanted to start dating him. But he took Haley's word for it. But considering all the history between Nathan and Lucas i don't think it was wrong for Lucas to feel a bit betrayed by Haley going out with Nathan. of course it is Haley's choice in the end.

The discussion kinda goes round in circles. I agree that Haley was right, but also relate to Lucas in feeling betrayed.

My heart is just breaking for Brooke though. What kind of a person says such sweet, heartfelt things to a girl that is falling head-over-heels for you, and then go and fool around with her best friend?

What I think is ironic about this whole situation is that so many were predicting Brooke to be the unfaithful, non-monogamous party in this pairing, when, in fact, she's ready for a serious relationship with Lucas if only he'll just open his eyes to the obvious.

I usually can't stand Dan but I loved him in the episode; the actor who plays him gave an amazing performance. I like how the writers are slowly making him more human and showing that he does love Deb and Nathan and deep down inside he also loves Lucas. Two months ago there's no way he would never told Nathan he loves him and would probably have left Lucas there to die or not say anything when the doctor asked if he was a relative. I can't wait for the writers to do more in depth with Dan.

As for Lucas, I majorly disliked him in this episode. I hate that the writers are ruining him and taking a chance ruining the show resulting in it eventually being cancelled. It's not a smart move to make the central character unlikable especially for a temporary pairing which is all Peyton and Lucas are. Besides the Peyton/Jake forshadowing with the way the show works the supporting characters have to be with a main one or a big part of their life to get airtime and that only leaves Lucas for Brooke since there's no other male lead expect for Nathan but there's no storyline possibilities there yet since other then basketball Lucas and Nathan are mainly connected through their relationships with the girls from the others social circle and Brooke is part of Nathan's and there would be zero angst/drama since at this point Lucas wouldn't care and Peyton defintely won't and Lucas would just be thrilled that he no longer has to share his best friend with his enemy, but with the way the writers are going by the time Lucas and Peyton have run their course Lucas will barely have any fan support which is very bad for the ratings since he gets more airtime then the other characters and the show revolves around his relationships. I hope the writers get a clue before it's too late.
