Since no one was doing this, I thought I'd start the new thread.

In regards to some of the posts in the last one, I felt this needs to be said.

If we're going to end up discussing episodes, our opinions of them will ultimately be discussed and along with that our preferences for certain characters, or what they did in that ep that we liked or disliked.

That in itself is inevitable.

If not, that really doesn't leave us much to talk about. Stuff like, did you see when so and so did this? Or I hated how so and so did that, etc are normal to come up in topic. If we're all going to have to start censoring ourselves at every turn, it's sad. And I'm not saying this so that people can purposely try to hurt the feelings of others on this board. I think we can be adults and discuss stuff, or at least I hope we can. I've also said I hate Marissa and Luke in this episode, but I don't see anyone picking up on those comments.

I don't agree with Anna's actions concerning some of her behavior and I said so in what I felt was an acceptable manner. I also do post at the anti-Anna thread btw, where I've been a lot more candid about my opinions concerning her.

And I know you're not personally attacking me, but I felt this had to be said because I feel this is quickly turning ugly for nothing.

This is a tv discussion board. If we can't openly discuss an episode and what we liked or didn't like about it, including a character's actions in said episode, then forums4fans might as well close shop.

I also think if this continues to get ugly, we should make two Canadian threads. One for Anna shippers and one for Summer ones. Because, it's already getting tedious in my opinion.

I also hated Marissa in that episode, and I said that Jimmy disgusted me, and no one said anything about bashing them either.

Everyone needs to realize that not everyone else is going to share your opinion. Frankly, I don't care if someone bashes Summer, because I understand that there are some aspects of her character that some people simply don't like. I'm mature enough to realize that not everyone is going love Summer like I do and I am not going to throw a tantrum each time someone shows their support for Anna. You like Anna? Kudos to you, but I don't feel the same way. Truth be told, I actually sometimes lurk at the S/A thread just so I can see what people find appealing about the relationship, and no doubt, there are appealing aspects to their relationship, they are simply qualities that don't appeal to myself in particular.

Back on track... I wonder when we're going to get the real story behind Oliver because that guy just plain creeps me out! It seems like everything he says is a lie and that he's just this big phony.

Also, where's Julie? I never thought I'd say this, but I miss her! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Good for you, Jewel! I agree with everything you said. To get offended over comments writen on a board is just too much. You can insult Summer all you want as far as her actions on the show and I don't care. Because that's what makes an opinion an opinion and I like hearing peoples thoughts.

That said, haven't seen the episode yet. I'm a little frightened from hearing what others said. I really hope R/M stay together although there is now Oliver and from what I read, Luke is in the next episode as well. I've been really looking foreword to more Seth/Summer and after reading a few peoples' posts, I'm getting the impression that's not happening. [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img] O well, I still can't wait for it to air here on Wed!

Wow, I've been away and didn't bother reading the last thread, but by the sounds of things, there was a little..tiff.

Anyways, onto the ep! So great! Although, I must say, I was mad at Marissa. I mean, I love her, but she was practically ditching Ryan to hang out with Oliver. Talk about downsizing! I was ticked about Anna and Seth, but Summer's reaction was good. I'm kinda glad she didn't get all...'summer-y', although I do like SS ALOT.

Sandy and Kirsten were great, as always. Jimmy and Hailey-EWW! He said she was 8 when he went to college, which means he's at least 10 years older than her!!

Luke was so funny! I really like him, now that he's not a jerk. Lol, his song! Seth was really amazing, too. Him freaking out about Summer's reaction was great. And I loved when he came down in the morning and Hailey was reading his Arts & Lit. The last scene between Sandy and Hailey was sweet.

Ryan calling Sandy about Oliver was nice, considering he hates the guy and he's trying to steal his girlfriend. And I must say I thoughroughly (I REALLY don't think I spelled that right...) enjoyed R/M's little make-up [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

My favourite scene though, was the last. I loved how Ryan and Marissa went to hang out with thier friends, and ended up just making out anyway!! But it was so great, all of them laughing, and joking, and playing...makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] I love the happy endings that The OC so regulalry supplies us with, they're always my favourite part (except for the fact that it's, like, ending!)! Too bad this one had to be ruined by Oliver...I really don't like him.

oh, I have to add, my favourite quote was just after Luke called Seth to see some football replay on the game he was playing:
S: *to himself* Luke's dad is gay, Luke's dad is gay, Luke's dad is gay... *Louder* Coming Buddy! (I think it went something like that.)

Oh yeah, the reason I really didn't like Marissa last night: "Well I know you didn't really want to come tonight, so why don't you just leave?" *gasp* I seriously was speechless when she said that! How cold and heartless was that? Especially since Ryan has helped her through so much.

This episode cemented my Ryan love. He is such a good guy despite his past, and I totally admire that! I love how he proved himself above the "Oliver is trying to steal my girlfriend" and was the bigger man, and bailed the dude out despite his ickiness. I especially liked how he didn't fink on Oliver to Marissa and instead forced him to tell him herself.

I also loved that last scene between Sandy and Hailey was sweet. But I also enjoyed Sandy bitching her out because c'mon, she totally deserved it!

seth and anna were so cute together! the outfit she wore @ the peginning with all the pastels was so pretty. She and Seth are perfect. however, i wish there had been a bigger controversy between them and summer. she took it too easy. something big is gonna happen. i hated though at the end how summer went and sat right between them. but hey, that's just her. Anna's purple stocking rock. i was wearing a pair just last week!!! [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img]

Marissa was really bugging me in this eppy. does she not get that Natalie isn't real and that Oliver is trying to ruin her relationship with Ryan? that was cute however when she thanked him. Ryan is being so great though about the whole Oliver situation. i give him a pat on the back.

What was up with Luke? he totally changed. i loved him in the eppy. especially when he was singing along to that rooney song! or when he was beating seth @ video games? priceless. the writes did such a great job with him. we really get to see what he's really like beneath the surface. perhaps he and summer should hook up.

Hailey is still kind of questionable. is she going for jimmy cuz she likes him or just to tick people off. i hope it's the first reason cuz he's such a nice guy. i loved her care bear shirt!

Poor Oliver @ the end. why didn't he just go in. i dislike him but i really felt bad for him.

Finally rooney. Amazing band!!! they are so talented and i thought the lead singer and drum player were hot! i had heard of them before but i'd never heard any of their music. i'm gonna have to go get there cd now.

all in all, next week's eppy should be interesting, the main group is all happy (or seem to be) which means something big is gonna happen really soon. Hopefully nothing bad having to do with anna and seth (i can't help but love them :lol [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

thanks for understanding why people like anna. she's cool. not everyone has the same opinion and everyone needs to respect that. i too understand why people don't like anna and why others love summer. in the end it's just a show and they are just characters. thanks for putting it in perspective [img]smilies/hug.gif[/img] [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

In the new episode when Oliver says he's been to the Swiss Alps Luke says: "The closest i've been to the Alps is Whistler" I think he was talking about Whistler, B.C. Not to far from where i live.

i think the title suggestion is cute, i loved luke in this ep. that said, i agree with jewel21. we should all be able to speak, or should i say write our opinions, i have written that i don't like seth and anna together, and i know that there are tons of people that like them together. everyone is different we should all be able to get along regardless of that, after all, the show in general is what drew us together, lets stay that way!

I realize that some rampant S/S shippers tend to get carried away, and sometimes the things they say are unfair. The same goes to the S/A camp, and I would much like to steer away from that entire mess because all it will lead to is hurt feelings and hatred. I actually have some respect for the minority of S/A shippers for standing up for themselves in a forum that is dominantly S/S. I understand it's got to be hard to see your favourite character being bashed everywhere except the appreciation threads

Ryan is being really great considering. I thought Marissa sort of needs a kick in the ass. She was so wrapped up in Oliver and his penthouse and moroccan food and Rooney tickets, she kept looking over Ryan. I felt bad for him.
